So, I saw this meme thingy on a friend's journal and it looked like it could be fun.

Comment with a number, and a pairing/two or more characters, and I'll try to write you a ficlet or drabble.

Pick a number, any number... )

bk_forever: (Default)

Comment with the title of one of my fics, and a number (or several!), and I will tell you:

1. What was my inspiration for this fic? How did it come to me?
2. What’s my favorite part of the fic?
3. What’s the part of the fic I’m most proud of?
4. What part of the fic was the hardest for me to write?
5. What part of the fic am I still dissatisfied with?
6. Who’s my favorite character in the fic?
7. Were there any major decisions I made about the fic that could have made it go a whole different direction?
8. Was there anything I only learned about the fic after I had finished it? (themes, motifs, symbolism, etc)
9. Did anyone in the fic surprise me by doing anything? If so, what?
10. If I had to sum up this fic in a sentence, what would it be?
11. If I were to rewrite this fic, what would I change?
12. Did any thing about this fic’s reception surprise me?
13. What were my beta’s major comments about the first draft of this fic?
14. If I were to write a sequel to this fic, what would it be about?
15. Any other question about the fic!

If you pick a chaptered fic, please select a specific chapter. Also, please bear in mind that Question 13 is crossed out because as I seldom get my fics betaed it doesn't apply.

You Are the Mother

You are very compassionate, and you offer comfort to those around you. You take care of people.
You truly feel for others. You are always imagining what it's like to be in someone else's shoes.

You are needed and wanted. People truly value you, and you would be missed if you weren't around.
You offer warmth and protection to your friends. You are considerate and kind.

Seriously, I am the least motherly person I've ever met, I have no maternal instincts whatsoever, which is why I never had kids. My mind is boggling!

Yes, I know it's only supposed to be 5 days, but I decided to carry on and make it a complete week, because good things happened after my last post =)

1. I got a DVD of one of my favourite films - The Big Easy - off ebay. I've been trying to get it for years! Looking forward to re-watching that!

2. I actually got a review on my FAKE drabbles on ff.net from someone other than my loyal reviewer there who reviews everything I write - Proof positive that at least two people are reading them! I get a bit discouraged at times; I know FAKE is a small, almost dead fandom, but I keep hoping that people will comment. There MUST be other fans out there somewhere. Well... Found one!

3. My Bears won a game! This is a small miracle, since they were playing the 49ers who they've developed a habit of losing to lately. Under other circumstances, I would have been rooting for the 49ers, but I'm a Bears fan first and foremost. I only got to see higlights, but that's better than nothing. Better yet, a few clips were shown of the Bears from way back when I first became a fan, so I got to see my old team, most importantly Jim McMahon and the late great Walter 'Sweetness' Payton!

Here we are, the final day, it's flown past! Now if I can just think of three more positive things... a bit tough because this hasn't been a brilliant day. I have two good ones, but I'll have to think to come up with a third...

1. I won some great crystals at auction! A truly amazing Chrysanthemum Stone, a cute Atlantis Stone (I'm a sucker for those), a shiny Labradorite and a gorgeous multi-colour Fluorite! Very pleased, especially as ebay had been messing me around all day. It finally decided to start working properly just before the auction started. What a relief!

2. I posted the 500th drabble to my drabble collection on ff.net and AO3! That's prettty epic!

3. Ummmm.... *Thinks hard* I had a half-hour lie in this morning, I guess that counts as a positive since I very rarely get a few extra minutes' sleep.

The rest of the day has been full of nigglingly annoying minor disasters. Bit of a let-down on the final day.

Busy, busy day - I almost forgot this! Thankfully, several people on my f-list are doing it too so seeing someone else's post jogged my memory =)

So, for today's three positive things...

1. I believe I may have earned another badge at [livejournal.com profile] fan_flashworks! YAY!

2. I wrote and posted a short FAKE fic for the Exploration challenge. I'm still doing Chapter 2 of Through Time And Space for the same challenge, but I still have a lot of writing to do on that one and I wanted to get something up quickly so I could qualify for The Early Bird badge (see above). So I wrote something that just skirts the edges of smut...

3. Doctor Who! Need I say more?

All in all, a good day.

Today has been a bit chaotic, I kept forgetting I hadn't done things I was supposed to do. *shrugs* My brain keeps wandering off.

Three positive things for today:

1. I have 10 followers on my new fic over on ff.net already! And 145 hits! I've had some great comments, it's very encouraging =D

2. Some crystals I bought have arrived. They're from the personal collection of a renowned crystal healer, I couldn't resist. All three are wonderful!

3. I've made some good writing progress. I wrote a short Doctor Who comment fic for a prompt over on [community profile] fic_promptly, a dreamwidth community that is great fun. Also done some work on chapter 2 of Through Time And Space. I want to do a bit more on that tonight, once I've done some betaing.

Quite a productive day!

Day Two, so here's three positive things from today!

1. New prompt from [livejournal.com profile] fan_flashworks! YAY! Better yet, it's a perfect fit to continue my current WiP!

2. I earned my '25 Posted Works' badge at [livejournal.com profile] fan_flashworks! That's my 6th badge, can't believe I have 6 already!

3. I got three really great comments on the Firefly drabble I wrote for a prompt on one of the dreamwidth prompt communities I belong to. They said my dialogue was spot-on! I'll post it here at some point, I'm just a bit behind in posting everything I've written for prompts. I'm slowly catching up though.

So that's today's post! =D

I got tagged by [livejournal.com profile] sassysailorgirl (I've shamelessly stolen her post title too!)

Rules: During the next five days, post three positive things about your day and ask three people to do the same so the positive attitude can gain some ground.

So, my three positive things for today:

1. It's been a warm, sunny day so I actually got all my laundry dry! Yay for freshly laundered clothes!

2. Got a new Cajun CD - Kings of Cajun Vol. II - and it's every bit as good as Vol. I =D

3. I wrote a Firefly drabble! (After saying I would never write Firefly because the dialogue is so difficult to emulate. I just hope the person who left the prompt likes it.)

I tag [livejournal.com profile] timelordshines, [livejournal.com profile] iantojjackh & [livejournal.com profile] tardisjournal - Play or not, ladies, your choice! *hugs*

(I'm not sure if I'm supposed to tag three people each day, but I'm just gonna do that part once - anyone else who wants to join in can just snag the meme!)

Dear Santa...

Dear Santa,

This year I've been busy!

In July I ate my brussel sprouts (1 points). In October I bought porn for [livejournal.com profile] dwolf34 (-10 points). In November I put gum in [livejournal.com profile] usakiwigirl's hair (-12 points). In May I got in line at the supermarket at the same time as someone else and I didn't yield (-8 points). In June I saved a busload of nuns in Angola (326 points).

Overall, I've been nice (297 points). For Christmas I deserve an XBox 360!

Sincerely,
badly-knitted

Saw this on [livejournal.com profile] iantojjackh's  journal and thought it might be fun, so I'm throwing my hat (or my fics anyway) into the ring.

Choose any of my fics or drabbles and then pick prequel, time stamp, missing scene, alternate POV or alternate ending and I will write a 100 drabble or slightly longer for you. If you pick time stamp, remember to specify the length of time.

All my fics can be found on my Master List.

I saw this over on [livejournal.com profile] dieastra 's journal and thought it looked like fun....

"I know very little about some of the people on my friends list. Some people I know relatively well. But here's a thought: why not take this opportunity to tell me a little something about yourself. Any old thing at all. Just so the next time I see your name I can say: "Ah, there's Parker ...she likes money and cereal." I'd love it if everyone who's friended me did this. (Yes, even you people who I know really well.) Then post this in your own journal [only if you feel inclined]. In return, ask me anything you'd like to know about me and I'll give you an answer*."

Since everyone else seems to be doing it...

Pick up the book nearest you. Turn to page 45. The first sentence describes your sex life for 2012.

So I did, and I got:

The button was at his waist.   (Beggars Ride by Nancy Kress)

Apparently, I need directions =P

Saw this on [info]thebuttonontop 's journal and thought I might as well give it a bash - could be fun, or embarrassing, or both!

"I want everyone who reads this to ask me 3 questions, no more no less. Ask me anything you want. Then I want you to go to your journal, copy and paste this allowing your friends (including myself) to ask you anything."

I'm not particularly shy these days, so ask away, I'm an open book - I just don't have very interesting pages, so prepare to be bored by my answers!
