Arrrggghh! I got tagged, not once but 4 times! (Does this mean I'm popular?) Thanks (I think) sariagray , usakiwigirl , 
magikalrhiannon  and xrai_namere  You're ganging up on me, I have no choice, I have to do this meme! Lol!

 

The Rules:

1. Make a list of 5 things that you can see without getting up. Hah! My laptop, the TV (thankfully switched OFF for once - bliss!), a clock. my teddybear Walter, a vase of dead flowers - really MUST remember to throw them out!

2. How do you style your hair? 'Style' is probably the wrong word - I just tie it back in a ponytail.

3. What are you wearing now? Burgundy velvet shirt and black track pants.

4. What's your occupation? Don't have one - used to be a Librarian before bad health got in the way.

5. What do you hear right now? Absolute silence *sighs* such bliss!

6. What's your favourite guilty pleasure treat? Dry Roasted Peanuts!

7. What are you thinking about right now? How long before I can sleep in my own bed again...?

8. Write the first word that comes to mind. Ouch! (Everytime I move, SOMETHING hurts!)

9. Dog person or cat person? I like both, but I prefer guinea pigs!

10. If you came across $2,000 (or other currency) would you keep it or turn it in? Could really use the money, but I couldn't keep it - I'd turn it in.

11. What was the last thing that you bought? Fresh haddock from our mobile fishmonger - delicious!

12. If you could afford to go anywhere in the world, where would you go? South America - always wanted to visit Macchu Picchu and other such places.

13. Where do you see yourself in five minutes? Still sitting in this chair posting this meme!

14. Last book you've read? Rider at the Gate by C.J. Cherryh. Haven't quite finished it yet, but it's good.

15. What are you doing this weekend? Sorting clutter and packing boxes for storage, same as every other day!

16. If you could play any musical instrument, which one would you play? Guitar! I have one but I'm useless at playing, my fingers are too short. Or harmonica.

17. How are you? Moderately crap. No change there then.

18. What are you doing tomorrow? Same as I'm doing at the weekend - my life is not exactly varied!

19. What are you looking forward to the most? Sleeping in my own bed - God, please let it be soon, the floor is killing my hips!
 
20. What scares you the most and why? Being trapped in a lift. I'm claustrophobic as well as agoraphobic, and I have pretty bad panic attacks. Trapped in a small space would be a nightmare.

That's okay! I just copied and pasted the whole meme into the posting window on my journal, deleted someone else's answers and filled in my own! It worked, so I guess that's okay! *grins* I'm still hopeless at computer things, but I keep trying!

Aren't silence and turned off televisions the best things in the world? I'm sick to death of my mum's TV habits. She just left to run errands this morning & I'll get a few hours of peace from the telly. I can actually hear myself think! I think I'll eat breakfast and then hoover and sweep the house. I love it when I get time to myself!

Silence is bliss! Mum spent all morning upstairs getting ready to go shopping and now she's out! First time I've been able to hear myself think in months! I don't mind some of the things she watches, and she does occasionally let me have something on that I want to see (CSI, NCIS...) but it's the endless news (ends on one channel so she turns over to get the news on the other side) and the soap operas (one and a half hours of them most evenings, just at the time we're having dinner and there's nowhere else for me to sit until I can go back in my own room. The dining room is stuffed with stuff awaiting packing or already packed. *sigh*). They make my skin crawl - it's no wonder kids these days are growing up as delinquents when they use soap characters as role models!

I hope the reno is done soon. You deserve to sleep in a real bed. It's got to be over soon, though, right? It's been a good couple of months since the pipes burst. *knocks heads together to get the workers to work faster*

Silence is the best. That's what's on in this apartment at the moment too - my daughter and I have no music or TV and we are loving it! We don't fill the air with inane chatter like the boys do.

Three and a half months and counting! I'm getting moved back into my room gradually, hopefully be back in my bed in a day or two - had to air everything after it spent a couple of weeks in the damp boxroom. Still got stuff to put back, but I'm getting there, I had a lot of cleaning to do first. Of course, now we have to sort out the rest of the clutter, throw out as much as possible, and get the rest packed for storage. We're still waiting to hear which company will be doing the re-wiring and new windows!

The peace was shattered when Mum came home - now I'm having to endure her inane soap operas, because there's nowhere else to sit! *sigh* All the screeching hystrionics make me want to put my fist through the TV! Sometimes I can't stand it and go and sit on my bedroom floor in the dark.

Yeah, I know what you mean about the peace. Ever since my hubs got home, I've had to listen to either him muttering Russian under his breath, which isn't really too much of a problem, he has to do that to learn it, but it's interspersed with random crap thrown in my direction as if I know what the fuck he's on about! I don't speak the language, I haven't taken any classes yet and damnit, I'm trying to read all the LAS stories and take notes so I can make a proper choice for voting! It's still work, of a sort!

I'm glad that you will be back in your room soon. At least the house will be more secure when this is all finished and you shouldn't have to worry about anything like this happening again, should snowpocalypse come round again (that's what the locals called winter here, apparently!).

I don't have time to spare to read all the LAS stories and vote, which really sucks as I'd love to. =(

It will be good to get the house sorted. Shame it took burst pipes to get mum to do anything. I'd been sorting and clearing for 3 YEARS, trying to get us in a position to have the work done, but all mum did was moan about the mess the house was in, then sit watching TV all day. I'd give her bags of her stuff that I found in the front room, ask her to sort through them and they'd still be by her chair, unsorted, 3 weeks later. At least we're making progress now, even though it's still me doing most of the work.

My room is wonderful, there's so much space! Shame I'll have to put so much back in it when we eventually start getting things out of storage. I'm determined to get the box room turned into a proper craft storage room though, so I don't have to keep all my craft bits and pieces in my room. I'm also determined to buy another shelf unit for the landing and put all the DVDs on that, instead of having them in 28 boxes blocking my wardrobe door! It's impossible to find what I want to watch, and I can't get at my clothes! Things are gonna change. *nods*

My first time being tagged too (at least the first time I've noticed 0_o) and I got tagged 4 times!

I just copied and pasted the entire thing from the start of the rules to the end of the last question, pasted it in my posting window, deleted the other person's answers and filled in my own, added who tagged me at the top, put my chosen people to tag at the bottom and posted it. I stuck with the questions that were already there, but you can change any questions you want to if there are any you don't want to answer! PM me if you get stuck!
