Okay, so here's the thing - I've offered to take over day-to-day running of [livejournal.com profile] tw_ficrequests, and my offer was accepted. So, you're looking at the new maintainer/moderator of the community.

What is [livejournal.com profile] tw_ficrequests? Do you have a fic you'd like to see written? A vid you'd like to see made? Maybe even you want some specific icons? This is where you come to ask, or to fulfill someone else's request.

Anything from the Whoniverse is fair game - that means Torchwood, Doctor Who, and the Sarah Jane Adventures.

Come and sign up, leave requests, fill requests, and above all right now - Spread the word to all your Torchwood and Who loving friends. Spread the word wherever you can. Get the fics written that YOU want to read. Do you want Donna to get her memory back safely? Do you want Jack and Ianto to dance like Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers? [livejournal.com profile] tw_ficrequests is where you come to ask.

Please help me get this little community up and running again. Join, post, and recruit others! I look forward to seeing you there!

Just a friendly promotion here - the Wicked Awards are now open for nominations in the following fandoms: Angel, Buffy, Charmed, Doctor Who, Firefly/Serenity, Star Trek(any of the shows including the movies), Stargate(any of the Stargate shows), Supernatural, Teen Wolf, Torchwood, X-Files.

So if you have favourite fics, fanart, or fanvids in any of those fandoms, why not pop on over and nominate them for an award? There are categories to fit pretty much anything, so show your faves some love!

Go here to leave your nominations. They will be screened.

The Whoniverse didn't do so well last year in its section; if I remember right, Supernatural and Stargate Atlantis fanworks pretty much cleaned up, so Doctor Who and Torchwood fanworks need more nominations this year, and more votes. Let's try to see at least one award for the Whoniverse this year!

Go forth and nominate!

Change will only happen if people keep working towards it!

Dear Friend,

76 countries make it a crime to be gay or transgender - and in 10, you can still be sentenced to death or life in prison. In many others, the ability to work, raise a family and love who you choose free from threat of violence is not yet a reality.

This movement is bringing together people of every identity - lesbian, gay, straight, bi, transgender and all that's between and beyond - to build a world in which everyone can live freely and be embraced for who they are.

I believe that equality is inevitable.  But we all need to do our part to make that shift happen in 5 years, not 25.

Millions of us are joining forces to go All Out against discrimination, All Out against hate, All Out in favor of equality, love and dignity. Check it out and spread the word:

Dear UK Flisters,

I know I'm preaching to the choir with you guys when it comes to LGBT equality, but believing something is fair and actually getting off your bum and doing something about it doesn't always follow like it should. So here's a little (and slightly preachy) reminder!!

Three things I'd like you all to do before you go to bed tonight (if you haven't already)

1/ Go here and sign the C4EM's petition for marriage equality. This is the simplest and probably most visible way to show your support. It currently has 60,000 signatures -- the petition against (by C4M) has over 500,000!!!

2/ Go here and fill out the government's consultation. It might take a little bit longer, but you can bet that for every pro-person who doesn't find the time, there will be dozens of 'anti' people who will.

3/ Email your MP. There's a handy template there for you to use so you don't even have to think of what to say. Also, you can go here to see where your MP stands on the issue. A hugely important thing to do because the majority of MPs will be voting with their conscience rather than following the party line, so make sure you let yours know your feelings.

4/ Okay, so I lied. There's actually a fourth thing. And that is simply spread the word. The consultation ends in two day - it's our last chance to get as many people mobilised as possible. So tweet it, Facebook, blog it, beat your friends and family around the head with it until they give in!!! And if you want to repost to your own journal (and please feel free to edit), here's an ever-so helpful button
