Spoilers: Human Nature/The Family of Blood

Summary: Hiding from the Family had been an act of kindness, but they misunderstood.

Disclaimer: I don’t own Doctor Who, or the characters.

It wasn’t fear that made him use the chameleon arch to hide himself away among humans. The Family of Blood were dangerous, certainly, but he’d faced far worse enemies and stood firm.

They kept following him though, with their stolen vortex manipulator, and he knew they’d never give up; wherever he went in time or space, they’d be right behind him. Hiding was his only option, but they hadn’t understood. They’d kept hunting him; even hiding hadn’t been enough.

He’d wanted to spare them, but they’d wanted to live forever, and now they would.

Be careful what you wish for.

I don't know, maybe he knew he only had the actress for one season and thought this was a good way to end her story, but it just took away everything Donna had gained and that sucked, and you KNOW that wouldn't have happened to Rose - or Gwen - RTD's darlings.

Whatever the circumstance Donna and the Duplicate Doctor should have stayed together. Best mates forever. None of this fan service crap with Rose.

She only "malfunctioned" after the Duplicate left her. Which makes me believe they were suppose to stay together. He could have kept her stable.

Wow, that's a really interesting idea, it makes perfect sense! But Ten was intent on giving Rose a version of himself that she didn't even really want because it was only a duplicate. Grrr, your version is so much better!

I've read fanfic that makes this plausible. Too bad it wasn't RTD's vision.:(

I don't really read DW fanfic, simply because I can't keep up with Torchwood, which is my number one fandom, but I think that scenario is a really good one. This is why fanfic is so much better than canon. Far greater imagination.

Oh yeah! Fanfic actually makes sense because the writers think things through instead of just cobbling things together regardless.

I just wrote 41 in a week, around 25000 words, so I understand the desire and drive to write =)

Today I've only written 5 drabbles and a 500 word ficlet.

I like to keep a count because it tells me what I've achieved and I can set goals for myself to stay motivated. Not everyone does it though, it's up to individuals. I just like knowing, lol!

LOL! I still haven't defined that difference on my own journal. I started out saying everything less than 500 words was a ficlet, but now it's anything under 600 words... Even that doesn't seem right though. 750 or more is a fic, less is a ficlet? I don't know.

Another of my drabbles has spawned a series, so I've got the headache of linking all the parts as I go. It's just fiddly. Posting takes long enough anyway with five journals to post to , without adding links to other chapters *sigh*

That is why I have slowed down and left the on-going fic's at editing with my beta dm12. I prefer to make one shots.

I usually do, but the drabbles have to be 100 words exactly, and if the story wants to be longer, I have to write it in segments, which is fun but means I have to link the parts.

Plus, with LJ's word limits, some of my longer fics have to be divided for posting here, which is why they're stacking up, un-posted, lol!

What a dilemma. Hopefully you will be able to post them. One of the reasons I delay posting is that I've been told that its hard for some to keep up.

It's probably why I don't get a lot of reviews, because I have to post several a day just to keep from falling further behind. I still have more than 200 left to post, but I got four up today. the only way I'll ever catch up is if I stop writing, and that's not gonna happen! Not this year, anyway.

I want to share my writing, but posting is such a long-winded affair =/

I still have tons of older fics to read, and people keep writing new ones! I need to take an occasional day just to read but I have so many weekly challenges to write for... o_O
