Title: Out Of Kindness
Author:
badly_knitted
Characters: Tenth Doctor
Rating: G
Written For: Challenge 072: Hidden at

Spoilers: Human Nature/The Family of Blood
Summary: Hiding from the Family had been an act of kindness, but they misunderstood.
Disclaimer: I don’t own Doctor Who, or the characters.
It wasn’t fear that made him use the chameleon arch to hide himself away among humans. The Family of Blood were dangerous, certainly, but he’d faced far worse enemies and stood firm.
They kept following him though, with their stolen vortex manipulator, and he knew they’d never give up; wherever he went in time or space, they’d be right behind him. Hiding was his only option, but they hadn’t understood. They’d kept hunting him; even hiding hadn’t been enough.
He’d wanted to spare them, but they’d wanted to live forever, and now they would.
Be careful what you wish for.

I remember him more from watching an episode of "Monk" who was a fan.
It is also the tune "Donkey" hums from "Shrek"
Waylon Jennings?
I'm not sure about the name but I probably heard the songs somewhere.

He was part of the outlaw movement, and he was supposed to be on the plane when Buddy Holly died, but gave up his seat at the last minute to the Big Bopper. What a lucky escape for Waylon. Not for the others, sadly.

That was Waylon?!. I use to watch Dukes of Hazard on re-runs. I'd to sing along to the theme tune
This post is getting very interesting.:)

Date: 2016-08-13 11:35 am (UTC)Yep, that was Ol' Waylon, singing the theme tune and doing the narration. I remember one year, his new LP, with the Dukes of Hazard theme on it, was being released over here the week before I was due to go on holiday for a fortnight. Two weeks with the Dukes of Hazzard, my then favourite show (I watched it on first run here in England and I didn't have a video recorder back then.
Anyway, I left work on the Friday, caught the bus to my favourite record shop, bought the LP, took it home and taped it, then took a bunch of batteries and my cassette player with me on holiday, and played that cassette to death! Great album though, I still love it =)
