Beta help? Also, writers needed!

Is there anyone still around who'd be interested in betaing one of my fics for December Fest at torchwood_fest?

So far I'm working on two, they're due for posting by January 2nd so there's plenty of time still, and the fics aren't finished yet. Looks like both will be 2000+ words each, and there's always a chance that I might write more for the Fest, so I'd like to line up a beta or two in advance if I can.

Also, come on writers, there are festive prompts going begging for December Fest, so if you think you might have time to write something Christmassy, then get over there. It's very relaxed, you don't need to claim a prompt or sign up officially, just write for any prompt that catches your eye. Prompt post is here. Fills only need to be 500 words or over, that shouldn't be too hard to fit in!

I don't know when I'll have a first draft ready because I'm also writing for the current fan_flashworks challenge and Challenge Week at fic_promptly on dreamwidth. I'm juggling deadlines like crazy o_O

Argh! I need the distraction of wanting to write a Christmas fic like a hole in thr head. Stupid bingo!

I'm the worst at procrastination which is why I've avoided looking at prompts for weeks (except TW100, can't let down my first community!)

If I finish more than five seconds before the deadline I'm so in! Really wanted to do a festive fic this year.

As an added incentive, several of the prompts there are ons i left, I'm sure you could find something to make the bunnies sit up and pay attention! I hope you do get the chance, participants seem a bit thin on the ground.

I'm working on one for someone else's prompt, and one based on the optional weekly prompts. Plus, I'm doing Challenge Week at fic_promptly and I'm halfway through a FAKE story for fan_flashworks. I've written over 8000 words this month already! I don't know if I'm going to make all the deadlines, lol! So much writing

Yeah, I bailed on Challenge week and I've missed the last three fan_flashworks challenges too. Trying to keep my muse focused on the task at hand. At least I can say we're making progress and should make the deadline!

I did see some of your prompts, they were all great, so I will aim to tackle at least one to hopefully get me in the Christmas mood which has been lacking so far. All I've managed this season so far is to contribute to our work charity collection. One of our clients is the Father Bob Maguire Foundation so I went and bought some soft toys at a local department store to include in this years donations. I don't have many other people to buy for so it makes sense to buy something for kids who otherwise probably won't have anything for Christmas.

We used to have something similar here, but I haven't seen any mention for the last couple of years. Mum and I always used to donate gifts. I think the shop that ran it closed down.

Good luck with the bingo, I'm sure you'll make it. I just hope you have a chance to write for the December Fest too, this is the first holiday fest I've participated in.

Christmas always sneaks up on me, I'm never prepared for it.
