Writer's Block: B.Y.O.B. Holidays
Dec. 13th, 2011 04:05 pmI'd just like to have a Christmas where nothing disastrous happens - where everyone stays healthy, the pipes don't burst flooding the house, the heating doesn't break down leaving us freezing... Just a nice Christmas where nothing bad happens. The last few Christmases have been dismal, to say the least.
That and a very BIG bag of crystallized stem ginger - I can eat that until it comes out my ears!
(I wouldn't say no to Ianto Jones either =P )

Date: 2011-12-14 12:14 am (UTC)We don't usually have disasters, but Christmas stress nearly kills me every year. I wish I could learn to love it! It "should" be a happy, giving kind of year, instead of craziness to buy too much and nearly get run over everywhere you go.
We are ordering some gifts this year, just in time!...sorry I guess I digressed. lol! :D

Date: 2011-12-14 10:11 am (UTC)Hope you won't get any more stressed than you already are and will have a happy holiday! Christmas is a very stressful time - sadly, that's become a sort of unofficial custom!

Date: 2011-12-15 12:05 pm (UTC)I'm cautiously hopeful! Presents don't really matter to me, I might get a few things. I've got things for mum that I know she'll be thrilled with, so that's okay. I'll send the rest of the family money as they prefer that.
As long as we're healthy and warm and I get to watch Doctor Who, I think I'll be happy enough. I already got my ginger! Had to go pick up my new glasses yesterday, and the health food store had ginger on a half price offer, so I got a load! =) Now I don't have to ration myself!

Date: 2011-12-15 01:19 pm (UTC)Me, got to watch Torchwood!...just wish I had more than 2 really good seasons...cause they didn't make more like them...as you know. I'm glad you got your ginger too.
You're a very giving person and that is a very special thing.
Merry Christmas!

I have the first 2 Torchwood seasons on DVD so maybe I'll watch a bit if I have time! A bit of Christmas Ianto would go down well =)

Date: 2011-12-14 10:56 pm (UTC)Well, I think Ianto isn't such a humble wish, but I doubt if any of us would complain if we found him in our stockings on Christmas morning! ...
Ummm, that looks odd now I've typed it! I now have visions of Ianto in stockings, which is way hotter and a lot less disturbing than it probably should be! In Britain we traditionally hang a Christmas stocking which is then filled with presents - by Santa Claus apparently ;) I don't know if stockings are used in France. When I was little, though, it wasn't a stocking, it was one of Dad's socks left by our beds and in the morning it would be all lumpy and full of small presents. I'm not sure Dad's socks ever went back to their proper shape! Our big presents would be downstairs, beautifully wrapped and stuffed in pillow cases. Mum was great for making do, pillow cases and socks are always available and it saved her storing things that would only get used once a year! Ah, happy childhood memories =)
Merry Christmas! *hugs*
