Writer's Block: B.Y.O.B. Holidays

I'd just like to have a Christmas where nothing disastrous happens - where everyone stays healthy, the pipes don't burst flooding the house, the heating doesn't break down leaving us freezing... Just a nice Christmas where nothing bad happens. The last few Christmases have been dismal, to say the least.

That and a very BIG bag of crystallized stem ginger - I can eat that until it comes out my ears!

(I wouldn't say no to Ianto Jones either =P )

Oh I am so sorry. You shouldn't have to go through that at Christmas

We don't usually have disasters, but Christmas stress nearly kills me every year. I wish I could learn to love it! It "should" be a happy, giving kind of year, instead of craziness to buy too much and nearly get run over everywhere you go.

We are ordering some gifts this year, just in time!...sorry I guess I digressed. lol! :D

Last Christmas was grim! The house was still damp from the burst pipes, there were industrial size dehumidifiers running 24/7, the house was freezing because they only finished fitting the new fire on Christmas Eve - all the doors has been open most of the time for the 3 days the work took, while the workmen scurried in and out, and we'd been without heating for several days before that while trying to find someone to do the work, and outside temperatures were below freezing even during the day, dropping to as low as -15 at night! There was no christmas dinner, no decorations... We did have a few presents and I watched Doctor Who, but it didn't feel like Christmas. To be honest, it doesn't feel like Christmas this year either, I can't find my Christmas spirit. No decorations again, we're still in a mess from renovations, but I don't mind that so much if it's not chaos, cold and panic like last year!

Hope you won't get any more stressed than you already are and will have a happy holiday! Christmas is a very stressful time - sadly, that's become a sort of unofficial custom!

Oh my! I should never complain about Christmas again! That is so awful what you went through last year...and here I am worrying about getting all the gifts in my nice warm house.

I do hope things get a little better for you this year. I hope you at least have family, love, and food for Christmas and more gifts than last year.

I'm cautiously hopeful! Presents don't really matter to me, I might get a few things. I've got things for mum that I know she'll be thrilled with, so that's okay. I'll send the rest of the family money as they prefer that.

As long as we're healthy and warm and I get to watch Doctor Who, I think I'll be happy enough. I already got my ginger! Had to go pick up my new glasses yesterday, and the health food store had ginger on a half price offer, so I got a load! =) Now I don't have to ration myself!

Me, got to watch Torchwood!...just wish I had more than 2 really good seasons...cause they didn't make more like them...as you know. I'm glad you got your ginger too.

I have the first 2 Torchwood seasons on DVD so maybe I'll watch a bit if I have time! A bit of Christmas Ianto would go down well =)
