Oh dear, I've done it again... I seem to have started another fic writing community!

This one is a little different to the last one though.

ficlet_zone is a multi-fandom community for all lengths of fics. There will be a new challenge every month, on or around the fifteenth, and challenges will remain open all the time.

There will be two kinds of challenge, which I hope to alternate.

Song Title Challenges

This is where a singer or band will be selected and the titles of any of their songs can be used as the prompt for you fic.

Reverse Fandom Challenges

This is where a fandom is selected and the titles of any of its episodes can be used as the prompt for you fic. Your fics can be in any fandom, you don’t have to write in the challenge fandom - unless you want to. (I hope that makes sense.)

So please come on over and join, so you can dip in any time you feel like it. You'll all be very welcome.

Just a quick heads up to everyone out there to let you know I might not be around tomorrow. I have a test scheduled at the hospital, assuming all goes well with the prep for it (which starts at seven this evening and continues at godawful o'clock in the morning - seriously, I'll have to get up at five in order to be awake enough to start drinking the second litre of stuff at six). My appointment is 2.35pm. That means leaving here no later than 1.30pm because I have to be there half an hour before.

I might have time to post something in the morning, if I feel up to it, or I might be able to post somehing and answer comments after I get home, but I'm not counting on that because I'll be sedated for the test and could be quite groggy after. We shall see.

Of course, if I can't drink the prep stuff for any reason, I might be here as usual, in which case please to disregard this message ;)

Anyway, wish me luck, if you're so inclined, and hopefully normal service will resume by Tuesday.

Thanks to my anxiety problems, I am, of course, terrified and would gladly cancel right now, but I suppose I should at least try *wibble*

Is anyone else unable to access ff.net? When I try, I just get a message saying their security certificate has been revoked and denying me access - I post there daily, I have friends there who review my stories daily, I have fics I read there, and so may people have followed and favourited my stories, so now I'm freaking out that it's been taken away from me! I've tried on both windows internet explorer and google chrome, but neither will allow me to access the site =(

I've finally taken the plunge and my new multi-fandom drabble community is up. It's called

drabble_weekly.

Come and check it out - there's a post for Questions and Suggestions, and one for Tag Requests, where you can ask to have tags created for any fandoms you might like to write in, and suggest any other tags you think might be useful.

The first challenge will be posted tomorrow, and as it's a new community, Challenge 1 will run for two weeks to allow members to join and participate. Challenge 2 will be posted on September 3rd.

All fandoms, original fic, and rpf are welcome, so if you like writing drabbles, this is the community for you.

Leaving in a few minutes for my hospital appointment to have a tube shoved down my throat. Needless to say, I'm dreading it so wish me luck and think of me please!

Don't know if I'll be back online again today or not. The 'procedure' is at 6.40, then I'll need some recovery time, but if all goes well and there are no complications, I might get to come home. Here's hoping. *wibbles*

Today has been a bit insane.

My Car's MOT test was coming due, so I booked her in for this morning. She was picked up at 9.30, and was back by 10.45 with very bad news. She failed and there was so much that needed doing it wasn't worth trying. I love my little car, so I really wasn't happy. I've had her just under four years and I hate that she'll probably have to be scrapped, but I had to face facts, so I went online looking for a replacement.

I thought it would take weeks to find something suitable, but I found one right away, only a few miles from home and quite cheap. 14 years old, but so was my last car when I got it, so my friend asked his older brother, who knows a bit about cars, to drive us out to look at it, and I ended up buying it. Got the seller to drop the price by nearly £100 too.

But, then I had to drive home from somewhere I'd never been before, and I was supposed to follow my friend's brother, but he drove WAY to fast and I lost track of him halfway, so I'm asking my friend, "Which way am I supposed to be going? Which lane should I be in?" and he's like, "I don't know!" He's got the map, he's supposed to be navigating! *rolls eyes* I did manage to find my way off the main road and gor to somewhere familiar, then had to stop off for petrol and found I didn't know how to open the cover over the petrol cap. *headdesk* My old car, you used the key. This one, we had to locate a lever in the car... It's down beside the driver's seat. I was home with new car just after 3pm. Never thought I'd get that sored so fast!

New car is now sitting in the drive; tomorrow I have to swap things around so new car is in the garage and old car is in the drive, because she's got to go. I feel so guilty, she's been such a great little car, but at least my new one is the same make so most of the controls are in the same places!

So, that's been MY day. Hope everyone else had a less manic time...
