DESPERATELY SEEKING BETAS!!!

Hello, my wonderful F-list, I come before you seeking assistance, if any of you lovely people can spare the time.

Both my dear friend m_findlow and myself need betas for our latest torchwood_fest fics, which have to be posted to the community by the end of the month, so there's not a lot of time left. m_findlow's fic is around the 10,000 word mark and ready for beta. I'm still working on my fic but should have it finished in two or three days. It'll be shorter, probably no more than 3,500 words at most, but it does include something creepy crawly, so beware!

If anyone can help us out, then please either leave a comment here or PM us directly. I'm willing to offer Torchwood (or possibly other fandom) drabbles or ficlets as rewards to anyone who can help us out at such short notice. *puppy dog eyes* Pretty please?

What kind of beta are you looking for? I'm not a big presence in fandom these days, but I could beta. However, it's been years since I've seen TW, so I wouldn't be much good for someone looking for characterization or canon help.

Strictly spelling, grammar, tenses, sort of stuff. My friend's fic is in first person with Tosh as the protagonist, so she needs an eye cast over it to make sure it stays in tense as well as picking up any typos etc.

Mine is a Jack and Ianto Chase the Monster type fic, nearly but not quite finished, I've had to stop writing to get get the washing in off the line. Should finish it tonight or tomorrow and my word count estimate looks like being fairly accurate.

Canon and characterisation we can handle - mine isn't canon-based =)

It's only mine now that needs doing, milady_dragon's taken on the long one. Mine's not quite finished, hopefully tomorrow I've just been out most of today getting stuff out of storage that now needs sorting, so I've had no time to write today.

Soon as I get it finished, I'll send it to you as an attachment. I use MS Word, so I hope that's okay.

Thank you! It's a weight off my mind since there's not a lot of time left for posting. It is turning out a bit longer than I'd anticipated, maybe around the 4k mark when it's finished, I'm just trying to find the end, lol!

Not a problem as to when. Most of my evenings are free, as my husband and two kids are in bed by nine. :) Hopefully Word won't be a problem. I have Apple products, but I'm pretty sure Macs still open PC software. It always has in the past.

*hugs* Would you be willing and able to take m_findlow's biggie? If so, could you PM her? I'm still working on mine, just passed the 3500 mark and it's still not finished. My fics keep doing that to me at the moment; just when I think I'm done, the boys decide they're not... Hoping I can persude them to let me just tie off a few loose ends without going into too much detail, but they're looking a bit mutinous.

And the muses...well, let's just say they've been very cooperative. I've managed to get the next two Dragon-Verse series two stories done and I'm working on a third. I've also started on a Marvel Universe AU that's based on the old TV series, Space:1999. Not sure if you're familiar with that one...
