I've been making Christmas cards....
Nov. 27th, 2012 03:48 pmAs some of you already know, I decided to make my Christmas cards this year - nothing too elaborate, just die-cut shapes stuck on cards with a few embellishments, but I'm quite pleased with the results.
Here's what I've made so far....
Triangular tree cards

Baubles (Set 1)

Flowering Trees (The first 5 are my not-Christmas Christmas cards)

Tannenbaum Trees (and 2 Glittery cards)

Penguins Set 1

Penguins Set 2

If anyone would like a card from me this year, PM me your address (and if a particular card takes your fancy, comment below and I'll try to make sure you get it - first come, first served. I've labelled the rows or columns A, B & C to make it easier, so, for example, you could ask for Penguins set 2, 2nd card in column C, or C2) I still have lots more to make - the next ones are planned out and just need glueing, I'm a busy girl!

I am having so much fun with these - the next batch is going to be more baubles (they're already planned out), then I have a few robins to use, and I want to make some cards with penguins and snowmen 'cause I just got some cute little snowmen and a few bigger ones. I've got little santa and reindeer heads too, but I haven't figured out the best way to use them yet. I love making cards =D

Date: 2012-11-27 11:09 pm (UTC)I'm useless at practical things - I'm not a good cook, and I can just about sew on a button and if pushed, hem a pair of trousers but I've always loved arty things. When I was about 9 I sold something mum and I had designed and made at the school summer fair - we called them Frizzles and they sold really well. I've been making stuff one way or another almost all my life.

Date: 2012-11-27 06:06 pm (UTC)I adore the penguins, I've bought so many in different coloured hats and scarves because they work so well with other things and they're so cute =) I'm doing penguins with snowmen soon.

Date: 2012-11-27 09:45 pm (UTC)I do love crafts, and I love trying new things. This is my first time making all my Christmas cards, but I was inspired by all the bits and pieces on ebay and I'm having so much fun planning them out. The only thing I don't like is that the nozzles on my glues keep getting blocked so I spend half my time unblocking them!

Date: 2012-11-27 11:14 pm (UTC)So pretty and creative!
They are all fantastic, but my favourites are the penguins because they are just so cute and the flowering trees because they are beautiful and I've never seen anything like them before.

Date: 2012-11-27 11:27 pm (UTC)They flowering trees are incredibly delicate and fragile, so I have to be extra careful gluing them, it takes a steady hand and mine often aren't, so I only work with those when I'm calm and relaxed.
I have your address so I'll send you something pretty if you don't have a particular preference!

Date: 2012-11-28 12:01 pm (UTC)No problem, PM away - I'm already sending several to the States and Canada!
Let me know whether you'd prefer a flowering tree or a bauble, and what colours you like. I'm just making another batch of bauble cards.

Date: 2012-11-28 11:47 pm (UTC)I've always loved making things, right from when I was little - they weren't very good back then, but I still enjoyed it. I think my skills have improved over the years, but it's still as much fun as ever just to make something, however simple or elaborate, and see the finished result. I plan to keep making things until my hands fall off, because it would take that to stop me, lol!
Glad you like them, I'm quite pleased with them myself!
(Now I think I'm going to bed - I'm yawning so much I can barely see what I'm doing!)

Date: 2012-11-29 04:35 pm (UTC)I'm so completely smitten with these little penguins, I think I've bought enough for several years, lol! I went looking for penguins in the craft section of ebay and most of the ones I saw didn't look very good, some even looked like they had carrots for beaks - which is fine for a snowman, but not so good for a penguin, it just looks weird. Then I found these and they were just perfect, by far the best I'd seen, they're so cute! I'm hoping to make another batch of penguin cards before Christmas.

Date: 2012-11-30 07:11 pm (UTC)So I thought why not a Christmas wreath?
So I just spent the afternoon in my garden to go pick the foliage.

Date: 2012-11-30 07:28 pm (UTC)I'm hoping to get my overseas cards sent next week for the same reason. With the British postal service the way it is, I never know when things will reach their destinations, so posting early gives them a better chance of arriving on time. instead of getting stuck in the Christmas backlog!
