Title: Odd One Out
Author:
badly_knitted
Characters: Tosh, Team Torchwood, the Doctor.
Rating: G
Written For: Challenge 349: Banana at
tw100
Spoilers: Tiny for Something Borrowed.
Summary: Tosh is feeling left out.
Disclaimer: I don’t own Torchwood, or the characters.
A/N: 100 words exactly, first try! Yay! And for the record, I share Tosh’s problem, so I can empathise.
Tosh stood off to one side of the Hub, sipping her rum and coke, watching as the Doctor and the rest of the Torchwood team toasted each other with banana daiquiris. She felt left out, isolated from her friends, which was stupid; she’d done as much as anyone to help save the day, and she knew she wasn’t being deliberately excluded from the celebrations, it was just…
She sighed and sipped her drink again, wishing she could have what everyone else was enjoying. Why did the Doctor have to be so enamoured of the one fruit she was allergic to?

Date: 2015-07-03 12:42 am (UTC)My father's similar. He's fairly slow, at least compared to everyone else, let alone me, but he makes lots of tiny errors. I used to stand behind him while he was working on briefs (he's a lawyer) and point out when he spelled 'the' wrong. I must have been horrid to have around then lmao.
I've never gotten much in to E Readers so I don't read those at night basically ever. I used to read books at night a lot, but now with my loft bed...I can't turn my lights off once I've gotten in or anything like that. But I guess, I do a great many things in the middle of the night, since I'm nearly always awake then anyway!!

Date: 2015-07-03 03:50 pm (UTC)I'm not an e-reader person. I've got one, but I almost never use it. I like real books =)
I'm a beta so I've trained myself to pick up mistakes, but I still miss silly things in my own fics!

Date: 2015-07-03 06:45 pm (UTC)I have my iPad which I sometimes use but it's too clunky to keep in bed with me. I'm hugging my sleeping buddy (my favorite and longest-owned, as in since before I was born, stuffed animal) and rolling around and all sorts of weirdness. I'm sure I'd end up breaking it or shoving it away to endure the eight-foot fall to the floor.
Most of my training's just the regular, honors english class, type training. I'm quite good at realizing errors, thankfully! I've never been a beta for a fic, but I'm certainly one of the first that fellow students come to for peer editing!

I took the plunge and offered to beta for someone long before I started writing. Betaed for quite a few people now and I have two regulars. English was always my best subject!

The light affects my nightmares, too, but in the way that unless I'm entirely desperate I can't fall asleep at all when there's any good amount of light.

Date: 2015-07-04 02:20 pm (UTC)That's quite good, then, if it gets light that early! I like to see the moon, but not when I am trying to sleep.

Date: 2015-07-04 03:40 pm (UTC)My bear Walter was rescued from a jumble sale by mum. He was all grungy and horrible, but a spin in the washing machine brought out his fluffy side. My own childhood bear is stuffed with straw and not very cuddly, Walter, on the other hand, can cuddle very well indeed.

Date: 2015-07-04 10:04 pm (UTC)My bed hugger is kind of a glove puppet like a furry hand with eyes and a tail. The tail is ideal for holding, lol!
Most of my stuffies are still in storage. I miss them.
