Summary: Tosh is feeling left out.

A/N: 100 words exactly, first try! Yay! And for the record, I share Tosh’s problem, so I can empathise.

Tosh stood off to one side of the Hub, sipping her rum and coke, watching as the Doctor and the rest of the Torchwood team toasted each other with banana daiquiris. She felt left out, isolated from her friends, which was stupid; she’d done as much as anyone to help save the day, and she knew she wasn’t being deliberately excluded from the celebrations, it was just…

She sighed and sipped her drink again, wishing she could have what everyone else was enjoying. Why did the Doctor have to be so enamoured of the one fruit she was allergic to?

Yeah, poor Tosh, avoiding the bananas means avoiding her friends. If she's anything like me, she can't even stand the smell.

Not at all, please do! I don't really have inspiration to continue this one. I considered having Ianto go and talk to Tosh, I've always seen those two as close friends, but I'm tied up with writing a new chapter of Through Time and Space and that's taking all my attention right now.

I'd imagine, if you're that allergic! I don't even know how one would last in my house if they were allergic to bananas eek. (I mean, if it was one of us kids, our parents would obviously adapt! but as to other people idk)

The smell wouldn't hurt me, I just think they smell disgusting, lol! Mum loved them though.

Ah, well it's good they wouldn't hurt you! Still not fun to be around a smell you don't like though.

Yeah, I even have problems with smells I DO like, I have some chemical sensitivity that means certain cleaning products, handwashes, laundry detergents and perfumes make me feel ill just from getting a whiff of them. It makes going out like walking through a minefield, especially if I have to do any shopping.

Eek. I don't have many smells like that - meat, though, I feel increasingly terrible when smelling meat - but I have tactile issues. Usually I can tell if something's texture is something that'll make me either feel ill or fully retch, but not always, so I tiptoe about new things a lot. (that's not the only reason, my anxiety contributes to the tiptoeing, but especially with new food, the texture issues are big.)

I'm generally okay with textures, except I don't do gritty *shudders* Or slimy.

I guess you're a vegetarian then? I eat a lot of fresh fruit and not much meat.

Slimy is the worst. And yes, I'm a vegetarian. (for over a decade, actually!)

Quite a few of my friends are. I still eat fish, occasionally chicken, but not red meat. I'm so limited in what I can eat that some days it's hard to have any interest in food. I live mainly on yoghurt and fruit.

Surprisingly not that many of my friends are. Only three people in my family are - and they're extended (step)family, an aunt, uncle and baby-who-isn't-a-baby-anymore cousin who live in San Francisco - so it's quite hard sometimes with food matters, with everyone else eating meat. At Goucher a few of my friends were vegetarian or vegan, which I guess is what I signed up for with an "academic-journal-published-hippie" school!

It's tough being surrounded by people who don't eat the same things you do. Mum and I always got our own food because she could eat anything and most of what she ate, I couldn't. It's a little easier now it's just me; the only foods in the house are things I eat and I don't have to worry about mum pinching my food and leaving me with nothing to eat. (I'm trying to find the positive aspects of being on my own, lol!)

Ah, yes. That would make it easier, to be on your own. I can't wait until I no longer have to lift up ham to get to my cheese sticks and my hummus!!!!

Yeah, it makes some things easier. On the other hand, I often don't see another living soul for a week at a time so it gets kind of lonely at times. I miss mum.

I take it you don't get out much. Do you have friends close by that you could at least meet for tea or something, or a restaurant or library or somewhere you like going? (My parents get on me about not being social, so I've got that on the brain lmao sorry) And it's totally reasonable to miss your mum! She is your mum, after all. I'd just rather it not consume you, you know?

I feel for Tosh and I know how she feels, Alcohol brings on my Migrains so when my friends and I go to the pub Im the one drinking coffee most of the time.

Aww poor Tosh.
You're not left out though - you worked just as hard as the others to save the day and you are still celebrating with them - just in your own unique way. We can't all be the same!
