Rabbit Update - The Sequel
Aug. 2nd, 2012 06:08 pmSo, new update. I just spoke to vetinary nurse Rhiannon, and Misty is out of surgery and awake. They're coaxing him to nibble some food and things are looking reasonably good. He's staying there another night so they can keep a close eye on him, just to be on the safe side, but I'm to phone at 9am tomorrow and hopefully he'll be well enough to come home then. I'll let you know when he's home.
Thank you to everyone for your hugs, good wishes, thoughts and prayers, you've helped me get through two very stressful, worrying days. I'm blessed to have so many great, animal-loving friends, you're the best!

Date: 2012-08-03 09:07 am (UTC)I'll be phoning the vet about 11.30 to see how things stand and if I can bring him home. He had an x-ray that shows he may have absesses in gis jaw, but one of them might be more sinister. We'll just have to see how he goes with treatment. Still keeping my fingers crossed.

Date: 2012-08-04 08:59 pm (UTC)As if we hadn't got enough problems, our power sockets downstairs have stopped working. There is a problem in one of them, but we need an electrician to find out which one and fix it, and that's not going to happen until Monday at the earliest. I lost my internet connection and when it still hadn't come back 20 minutes later, I went to check my modem which is plugged in downstairs - there were no twinkling lights on it and i thought it had broken, then realised the TV wasn't on either, and that's always on when mum is downstairs. Then found out the upstairs lights weren't working either. Our neighbour checked things over, found which circuit was the problem (downstairs sockets) and got everything else working, but we still need an electrician to track down the problem. I'm using an extension cord to plug in my modem elsewhere. *sigh*

Date: 2012-08-07 12:59 am (UTC)I'm sorry about your power sockets not working downstairs. Oh what a pain! I hope the electrician came today, I will have to read your new posts to find out. I'm so behind.
Having awful days now, pain, depression, and I can't take anything without have burning, itching welts attacking me so I have been crying a lot and wishing for death. I have an appointment with a "Dr. Han" who is a acupuncturist next Wednesday. I hope he can help with my kind of pain. Dr. Marshall told me today that the man was very good at what he does. I don't like the idea of having needles stuck in me, possibly..."down there!" but if it would stop the pain even for a while it would be great and there would be no chemicals involved so I might could see him until I stop breaking out then maybe I could consider medications again, but my level of hope is low. Nobody knows anything for sure which is highly frustrating. :(
I am seeing a lady therapist/social worker I guess this Wednesday just to talk about things. No idea how that will go either. If it doesn't work out, I can always go back to Dr. Brown, my psychologist. Michael just thought someone new might be more helpful and I it might be easier for me to talk to a woman about embarrassing pain problems.
love deb :)

Date: 2012-08-07 02:27 pm (UTC)Misty went for his chechup today - well, I took him, lol, he didn't go on his own. We have to keep on with the antibiotics and pain medicine for another week, then I'm to take him back for another check. He's still not eating well and his digestion isn't going as it should, so we also have to give him tummy massages and I'm to give him pinespple juice, so we're sharing a carton! Also been told to try him with basil and coriander, but he doesn't seem interested in either. He did eat a grape and has been eating cabbage and some dandelions, but not enough for a rabbit his size.
*hugs* Good luck with all your appointments! Love, J xxx

Date: 2012-08-07 08:57 pm (UTC)Yeah, hoping she is a sweet lady and easy to talk to. I talked to my Mom some on the phone today because I have been in a deep dark hole for two days crying over my situation and pain. Michael couldn't take it anymore and called my parents. I will try to call her when I am upset instead of unloading on Michael if I can. She told me she wanted me to. She is a really good mom. :)
I hope the check-up went well with Misty. Sorry to hear he is still not eating enough. Maybe the antibiotics are making him feel bad. They do that to me sometimes, but I am not sure how that works on rabbits. Poor little guy. Keep me updated.
love Deb. :D

Date: 2012-08-07 09:19 pm (UTC)It's good to have a mum you can talk to if you're upset. Your family sound lovely. I can't talk to mine, she doesn't like me getting upset, not for my sake but for hers. She says I should repress what I'm feeling. I'm supposed to go around with a smile on my face at all times so as not to bother her. I guess that's why I have nightmares where I'm screaming and hitting her. Not at all pleasant. Ah well, such is life.
*gentle hugs* Love ya ♥
