Santa Elephants - Cross Stitch
Jun. 19th, 2012 02:21 pmElephant Santas in Cross Stitch
These Elephant Santas were a bit fiddly to stitch because of colour changes, but I've stitched them all twice, as Christmas cards for my sister and a friend of Mum's, both of whom are elephant fanatics. There are actually ten in the set, but the others have all been sent over the previous few years, so the ones here are just the last six I needed to stitch to complete two sets.. As with the Tartan Santas, they're stitched on 18 count aida with one strand of thread. These photos are close-ups and are bigger than the actual size - each one is only 5cm tall and at most 5cm wide (Santa with his list is just 3.5cm wide).

I think they're cute!

Date: 2012-06-21 03:32 am (UTC)The first one has a lot of pretty colors, the presents, but I sort of like the 4th one where he is holding his santa bag in front of him. I think that is a santa bag?
The one that made me giggle the first time I saw it is #3! I love the elephant with his funny trunk drinking out of a glass. So cute! The wreath one and the bag over his shoulder is so cute too!...oh crap I give up! lol! If you send me a card @ christmas, which you don't have to...Just surprise me! lol!
I guess it would be #3 or 4. :D

Edited: Silly me, I answered your post twice, I mean in reply to one part and then the other. I got confused. What's new huh? lol!

Date: 2012-06-19 04:21 pm (UTC)If you'd like, I'll stitch you one for her and send it to you. They don't take long to stitch as they're so tiny. Just pick one. There are also Elephant Santa on ice skates, one putting baubles on a Christmas tree, one halfway out of a chimney, and one behind a table with a roast turkey on it.

Date: 2012-06-20 03:15 pm (UTC)I must admit, small designs appeal to me as they're quick to do, but I have so many designs queueing up that I want to stitch and there just aren't enough hours in the day.

Thanks I really needed this right now. I know that makes no sense. I just have been having a difficult couple of days. So sorry I have not posted to you. I will try tomorrow.
Oh! Tomorrow is our anniversary, Michael and I have been married 14 years! Amazing! We haven't killed each other yet! LOL! Just kidding! Well actually it is today because it is almost 2 in the morning right now. We were married June 20th, 1998. You know I almost forgot with so much going on, well I remembered some days back then forgot untill just now when Michael told me. *hangs head* ...usually it is the men who forget. LOL! He told me he loved me, :*) ...he tells me everyday too. Not many men that do that! Drives me crazy sometimes, but then I remember how lucky I am to have a guy like him. Some guys never tell their wives they love them or appreciate them. It seems so important to him. I am the one shy about saying it though I feel it deeply. I get embarrassed, so stupid I know. My dad has problems with being mushy too; I guess I get it from him. lol! I must work on remembering to say it because he needs to hear it, even if he already knows that I do.
Love & Hugs* ♥ ♥ ♥

Date: 2012-10-18 10:11 am (UTC)I've seen charts for the Jack/Ianto CoE promo picture picture where Ianto is behind Jack with his arms around him. I can well imagine that there's at least one out there for JB. You can get just about anything. One of these days I'll make my own chart from a Ianto and Jack picture, when I find one I like for the purpose. I'll go through all the screencaps I've picked up from other people and chart it - without backstitch because that's best for that sort of picture. Hope you enjoy stitching JB!
