Fic Of The Week - Week Twenty Two

I'm a bit late posting today because I had a doctor's appointment for blood tests, then I decided to do some shopping, and THEN, I broke my car and had to take her to my mechanic to be fixed (I almost tore my driver's side wing mirror off reversing into the driveway. Damn it! How come I never had trouble backing a bigger, longer car in but I just can't manage with this one? It's only a few inches wider, you wouldn't think it would make such a difference!)

Anyway, on to the actual Fic Of The Week post.

First up is the final part of miss_shine 's trilogy, And Everything: Ianto's Story. After the events of the last part, I'm almost afraid to read this one, I can't imagine any way to give this story a happy ending and I don't want to be sad (or sadder than I already am!) I will read it, nevertheless, because happy or sad, I just have to know how it ends!

For Fic Two this week (for those of you who have already finished the trilogy) I've chosen a kinky little 5 chapter fic from May 2008.

Love the Coat by sanginmychains is very definitely adult in nature - and as I said, kinky. Well, the first part is since it was originally posted for Kinkfest. =D
There's no summary as such, and I'm not even going to attempt one - just kinky, smutty fun with the boys - I hope!

deep sympathy on the wing mirror. I recently backed into a friends car. The only car on that side of the car park.
I still don't know how. I'm not normally accident prone like this. (Although wing mirror damage is common for me, but I drive a behemoth down single track roads in rural England.)

Yeah, stupid of me really, I was making sure the other side of the car was clear and.... Well, all fixed now. Thankfully, I have a wonderful mechanic who comes to my rescue every time something daft happens. After a bit of wrestling, he managed to pop it back where it should be. I guess you could say my car was suffering from a dislocated wing mirror. I wasn't strong enough to pop it back, though I did try - I wasn't even sure it could be done. They're designed to spring back if you catch them on something, but of course mine popped right out of the socket. Typical! My poor little (rather wide) car. Best of all, the repair was free of charge! I've had the same mechanic since I got my first car over 30 years ago - he was just a trainee then, working with my brother-in-law. Now, he's in charge!

Oh boy do I understand about messing up cars. I never used to have any wrecks, usually just run into things. lol! I had my car all fixed up from several wrecks Michael and I had both been in, in my car! His Dad had people fix all the dents and repaint it for us free of charge. Then I go and run into and "over" one of those concrete curves they put down on the road going into the shop area. Busted up the front bumper and knocked off paint. I could have cried and am still beating myself up about it. I could have stopped, but panicked and just drove right over it! Take a couple of hundred dollars to fix it so I guess it will stay like that for a long time or until we sale it. *rolls eyes* We just can't ask Michael's dad to fix it too. He has already done so much for us. He's been so nice, knowing we didn't have the money to fix all the original damage.

My car's fine now, dislocated wing mirror back in place. I hope I don't do that again. Richard (my mechanic) already thinks I'm nuts. He's right, of course, I am, but that's no reason to keep proving it!

Got my repeat blood test done though, and did some shopping. I'm completely exhausted now. It was very hot out and I don't cope well with hot weather, but I got everything done that I wanted to do and there was even a craft fair in the square - it's on all week - so I got to enjoy that. Bought some handmade soaps and a lovely pair of earrings shaped like snakes - just completely fell for them, they're so cute!

The birds of prey were there again - a few owls (Little Owl, Barn Owl, two Tawny Owls), also a kestrel, a couple of buzzards (they're big birds) and an Osprey! Sadly, I didn't have my camera with me. If I'd known the fair was on, I'd have taken it.

Booked another eye test. I only got new glasses in December, but I'm having problems with the vision in my right eye, so I've got to have it tested and that might mean more expense on more new glasses =(

Sorry to hear about the car! I don't drive, but we live on a narrow street and our mirror gets clipped several times a year. Seems to be a common occurrence in the world. :/

Now on to more pleasant subjects! I adored "Love the Coat"! I've read other things by this author but somehow missed this one. Her stalkery, disturbed but incredibly sexah Ianto was fantastic, and I think Jack's in for the ride of his life, even if he hasn't quite figured that out yet. LOL. Thanks for the rec!

I've bookmarked the longer one for one of those nights I can't sleep. Having a juicy, multi-chapter fic to dive into almost makes insomnia enjoyable. :)

Oh, I have novels for that - I have to turn the computer off sometimes, lol! The long one is very twisty and turny and timey whimey, if you can look past the rather eccentric spelling (the author is dyslexic and had no beta on the fic). It's worth the effort to read though, some of it is really heart-wrenching!

Car is thankfully fixed - my wonderful mechanic managed to pop the dislocated wing mirror back into place. I tried, but I wasn't sure how it fitted and I'm not strong enough anyway, it took a lot of effort. I'll have to be more careful in future, I'm getting a reputation for doing daft things to my cars!
