WHAT THE FUCK HAS LJ DONE NOW?!!!!

The new update page is horrible, I can barely read half the writing on it now with my eyesight, I have to get right up to the screen and squint!

And the standard journal page is as bad or worse, the tags are now so small and blue I can't read them.

I am just so sick of LJ changing things for no reason and making them more difficult to use. A lot of us have vision problems, but they just don't give a damn about their users. I should be used to that by now, but it still drives me mad  >= [

Help! My friends feed is fine. When I use SilverSun's link I get a community page with no speech bubbles anywhere!

I agree! I opened this and can't find ANY of the posts I used to use for finding things. Even though did save links, I can't find anything. As much as I love blue, this isn't the 'blue' I want to see and there's no way to fix the page to my liking! :[ My own eyesight is getting worse but then I spend a great deal of time working on one; it's what I do for a living. This change is full of *&(*&)!

Cannot find that to restore it what I had before but then I have a Plus Account. All I know is that this is a stupid ass move on their part! I had enough trouble navigating before; this will seriously be a bad case of lost in space! NO pun intended!!

I didn't say 'yes' to changes either, they just changed it, the whole layout turned ugly and hard to use, I couldn't access my profile page either, it was awful! Thanks to a friend, I'm now back on the old version. I can't read pale blue text on a white background. Grrr!

Stick will LJ for now, I know you have other friends here and I'm not going anywhere because a lot of my other friends are only here. As much as LJ annoys me, this is where I started out in 2008 and I'll be damned if I let them drive me out while there are still sites here tha I want access to! I'm a stubborn woman and I don't like being told what I can or can't have!

go to the blue bar across the top, towards the right hand end there should be a little cloud with a question mark in it OR possibly a blank blue square. If you click it you should get taken to a page where you have the option to leave feedback and below that an option to change back to the old style. Just keep clicking places on the blue bar because even if you can't see it (and it's NOT visible for a lot of people) I'm told it IS there, it's just maybe a case of trying until you click on the right spot.

Agreed! All I knew was that LJ crashed while I was trying to post a drabble and when it eventually came back more than 2 hours later, it was unrecognisable, difficult to use, painful to read and I couldn't even access my profile page! Plus, there wasn't an obvious (to me at least) way to switch back, it was like they'd made opting out as difficult as possible so they could later say "Well, hardly anyone switched back, so they must have liked the new style" GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!

Yeah, I know, sorry about that, I have to highlight them and enlarge the page myself, but I really like the rest of the layout and I don't want to switch. It cheers me up.

I DID get the speech bubble, but since it's unlabelled I had no idea what it was for! Thankfully, it was explained by my lovely f-list and I'm back to the previous less than perfect style, whicvh is still a damn sight better than what they want us to have nowe, which is SOOOO Not User Friendly it actually hurts!

I don't know, but whoever it was and whoever designed the new look, they should both be fired! Actually, everyone in charge at LJ central should be fires and people brought in to fix the mess they've made of what was once a great site.

Changes like this really are a pain in the ***! I couldn't even load my LJ page for about an hour. And when it finally worked again, everything looked so different and when I wanted to upload my drabble, I had to reload the page several times before the "Save" button finally worked!
I really don't know why so many online platforms constantly make these changes that are more confusing and frustrating than helpful :(

LJ always changes the things that work ewhile ignoring all the things that don't. I couldn't use LJ at all for over 2 hours and when I got it back, the update page didn't work, I couldn't access my own profile page and it all looked hideous anyway. If there wasn't so much still on LJ that I want easy access to, I'd leave. But I can't so I'll just refuse to accept these unwanted changes for as long as I can.

For whatever reason, Safari wasn't showing me a cloud or blank square. There was just that annoying circle and it wasn't doing squat last night. I ripped into them last night, too, about this through their feedback and I guess they're trying to merge in all the different browsers. Just leave the damn thing alone. I spend far too much time at work on the computer and then at home so my eyes are really being affected.

I spend most of the day on my computer, so I know the havoc it can play with eyes. Such a pain! Glad you're back to the old style too. I just don't get why LJ refuses to listen to what its long-time users want and just makes these changes against people's wishes and without our consent. It's bad business practice. I don't adapt well to change at the best of times without adding in migraine inducing visuals. >=[

That's weird. I wonder why it changed on some people's pages and not others. So glad you got it back. I wish they would just leave things alone. If it ain't broke don't fix it. lol! Something I was told a long time ago.

I hope mine doesn't change. They did that on my stupid Yahoo mail account once and I finally figured out how to change it back to the old version. It was the most awful colors I had even seen and I couldn't half read it so I know what you mean.

So glad you are standing your ground. I remember that from back last year I think it was when I was telling you to stand up for yourself I think about those care givers for your Mum. ?

Anyway, no I just paid up in March or April so I am staying for at least another year and probably won't leave either. I have been on LJ a long time too, since Alex was a baby, probably around the same time you came here. I don't remember the year. Do they have that listed in our history? I should look it up.

I know I have made friends, seen some very good ones come and go. You are my best friend here now. I usually click with certain people really well and others are friends, but it is not quite the same if you know what I mean. I met a girl on here when Alex was just a baby in the crib, he was born in 2005 so sometime after that. She was great, we talked every night then someone hurt her feelings and she just said goodbye to all of us. She wouldn't even email me and I will never understand that because I did not hurt her. She had a lot of problems though so I forgave her. I just miss her still and wish she would come back.

I'm glad I met you and you still stick with me even when I don't post for awhile. Thanks! Though I do feel bad about it. Life is just so hectic and difficult right now. Maybe someday things will settle down again. Email me anytime too if you want to talk. I usually check them every day.

We are going with my family to the beach on June 7th but I will take my laptop and tablet so I will try to get on at least once a day. We usually stay out on the beach a lot and go to dinner so I may not been on as often, but it is just for a week.

Well I spoke too soon. I just looked on my profile page. It is all changed. Lots of blue and strange colored writing like you said. I had only looked at my friends page not my profile until today. How do you change it back again? I will see if I can find out what you did from the stuff you posted. I hate this!

Your profile page should list when you started your journal - mine was Dec 2008, so I've not been here as long as you have, I didn't even get on the internet until Oct 2008, lol! I'm slow to get into all these new fangled things!

I was so demoralised back just after mum's stroke, it felt like my home didn't belong to me anymore there were so many strangers coming and going. things are better now, our regular team of carers are great and they're respectful. It makes such a difference =)

The speech bubble isn't visiblr to everyone, so just try clicking randomly on the blue bar towards the right side, maybe an inch or two in from the side - it IS there, just not visible in some cases but if you just keep clicking around the area you'll hit it eventually!

I had to hover about 1/2 inch below right side of the menu bar to get an outline of a square to show up. That's when I clicked and saw the menu with the change back option on it.

Logging in for the first time since Friday, I was pretty shocked at first. But the journals themselves are untouched, so I'm not that upset about it. Granted, the "User Info" page looks ugly, but so far, that's the only thing I'm getting worked up over.

With my eyesight I couldn't handle the blue text - to read it I needed to have my nose about an inch from the screen which really isn't practical. Plus, my profile page was inaccessible, I'd get a brief glimpse then it vanished. I've switched back to the old style, I don't want the new, it's unusable for me.
