Is it just me, or is anyone else finding it impossible to upload documents to fanfiction.net?

I was late posting my daily drabble yesterday due to circumstances beyond my control (why do people think Easter is the perfect excuse to descend on other people without an invitation or any warning?), and when I got around to posting at ff.net, I got precisely nowhere. Try as I might, at least a dozen fruitless attempts later I had to give up and go to bed so I tried again first thing this morning and I'm STILL getting an error message.

If you look out your window and see a huge cloud of gloom on the horizon, it's probably the one hanging over my head right now. *sigh*

Ohhh, how frustrating! I checked on Is It Down Right Now Or Is It Just Me and it's NOT just you. While the site is up, loads of people seem to be having the problem you are having, and have been all night.

Someone posted a workaround in the comments section that I thought that might apply, if your drabbles are "chapters" in one "story". Please note I haven't tried this (I'm not even sure I understand it, having not used ff.net in awhile), but I'm including it just in case:

Edit a document you already have in there and select/all delete all the text and then paste your current chapter into it (save). And then go post the chapter (put the correct chapter in the Chapter Title field and select the altered document in the 2nd box), it will update to your story and the email has the correct title).

At any rate, I hope they get it fixed soon!

Thanks, I'll give that a try if it doesn't clear up soon, it sounds plausible. I can reply to review etc, just not upload documents, anything that is already there should work.

I figured it might not just be me since there have been no new fics posted on the site since yesterday. Very annoying though, how did they manage to break it? I swear it wasn't me! o_O

I had that problem yesterday as well!

But just a few minutes ago I uploaded my daily drabble as usual and everything worked fine again :) The upload page looks a little different though, so maybe that's what they worked on yesterday and that's why nobody could upload anything...

Anyways, is it working again for you too?

Yeah, is is, thanks. I managed to upload my drabbles yesterday afternoon. I didn't notice things looking different, I'll take a closer look when I post today. If they were working on it, they could have warned people in advance. It's annoying to waste time repeatedly trying to upload stuff when I could be doing somethuing useful.
