A/N: Double drabble.
“Thanks for getting here so fast. I think this one’s more a Torchwood matter than something for us to deal with,” Kathy Swanson told Jack when he arrived on scene.
Jack grinned. “Always ready to assist the Heddlu! What exactly happened? You didn’t give me much over the phone.”
“Had a report of a car theft late last night. This morning one of our mobile units spotted it going hell for leather along the East Bay Link Road. They gave chase and pulled the driver over just past the pumping station. Thought he was wearing a Halloween costume, but if he’s got a mask on, it’s the sort they do actors up in for a sci-fi movie.”
“Let me guess, he has a pointy head with a fin-like crest running across the top.”
“Yes! How did you know?”
“Seen them before. We call them blowfish and they’re serial offenders. They like to get drunk, high, or both before stealing fast cars. When they’re not joyriding, they deal in drugs and stolen technology,” Jack explained. “They’re vicious, ruthless, and will kill anyone who gets in their way.”
“Charming. I’ll leave him to you then.”
Jack sighed. “I knew you’d say that.”
