Title: Bazaar
Author:
badly_knitted
Characters: Martha Jones, Tenth Doctor.
Rating: G
Written For: Challenge 395: Market at
dw100.
Spoilers: Nada.
Summary: Alien marketplaces are full of wonders.
Disclaimer: I don’t own Doctor Who, or the characters.
Martha has never seen anything like this. It’s fantastic; exactly how she imagines a Middle-Eastern bazaar must look. Stalls everywhere, selling everything imaginable, from colourful fabrics to spices, livestock to jewellery, technology to foods… The smells are indescribable.
There are fresh fruits, skewers of meat cooking over grills, piles of cakes and confectioneries and what might be cheeses. Martha wants to sample everything, but when she moves towards a stall selling something spicy the Doctor stops her.
“I wouldn’t, not unless you want to turn blue and have all your hair fall out. Some things aren’t meant for human consumption.”
The End

Potatoes are good but I can't eat pasta because of my intolerance for grain products.

Date: 2020-04-19 10:50 am (UTC)Fast pace jobs are not ideal for people with our temperament. I didn't stay long enough to do cashier work. I was always at the back doing food prep or kitchen hand. Now that I'm more self-aware, I would find that kind of job more annoying rather than anxious. If I knew that back then, I would of applied for an introverted job.
Everything in life needs a balance. It's up to people to have the right attitude so that it's not a mix of those who have too much, while others have next to nothing.
Food allergies can be distracting. I eat in small portions too. Sometimes people think I don't like eating because I'm naturally slim. :(

Date: 2020-04-20 10:41 am (UTC)Eleventh Doctor: Can I have an apple? All I can think about. Apples. I love apples. Maybe I'm having a craving. That's new. I've never had cravings before. Look at that.
My motto is if you're not addicted to a food, it's healthy enough to eat. I went through a trial period of not having cheese. I didn't miss it. I do know that I have a slight issue with coffee. But I don't have it everyday. So, it's all about self-control. I'm just glad to have options. Even if minimal.

Date: 2020-04-22 10:50 am (UTC)That sounds like when I had braces for the first time. I didn't know what to eat because it was too painful. I had to eat like a baby and I also lost weight. Not good for someone who is slim as it is.:(
I hope you find contentment with sustenance.*hugs*

Date: 2020-04-23 11:02 am (UTC)I was told to put on weight by eating more protein based foods. Like my thought processes doesn't allow me to gain weight. I don't know. I just believe it's a genetic thing. Any weight I do put on goes to the wrong parts of my body.*my butt*
I don't want to overthink it because there are people who are in poverty. We are lucky to eat and have options. Even if it is not a perfect diet.

Date: 2020-04-24 10:08 am (UTC)I can't eat a lot of meat so I get my protein from yogurt, eggs, and cheese, all in moderation. I do have meat occasionally, and fish most weeks, but the mobile fishmonger can't come while the country' on lockdown so there goes another source of food I can eat. I can't abide frozen fish, it's horrible, and the fresh fish in the town's fishmongers isn't very fresh, there are usually flies crawling on it which put me off.

My cat's loved it when I gave them fresh fish. That was when they were still kittens. Later on I just gave them the dry/wet cat food.
I don't mean to compare you to a cat. I sometimes ate tuna and my cats would want that too.:)

Date: 2020-04-25 10:48 am (UTC)But no, I can't eat a vegetarian diet since leafy green vegetables are out and a number of other vegetables are out, along with grain products, which I can only have in very small amounts. No bread, pasta, or breakfast cereals. I just have a very seriously restricted diet.

Date: 2020-04-25 11:21 am (UTC)That's tough. I guess you just "jazz up" your tuna. There are many ways to eat one type of food.

Date: 2020-04-26 12:17 pm (UTC)I suppose your right. It's basically a selection of salad, sandwich, pasta or last resort...seaweed aka sushi.

Date: 2020-04-28 12:15 pm (UTC)I think it would be easier for both of us if you told me what you could have. Otherwise, it doesn't matter.:D
I know it's complicated. Since I found my own diet a challenge describing it to people.
