Title: Bazaar
Author: [livejournal.com profile] badly_knitted
Characters: Martha Jones, Tenth Doctor.
Rating: G
Written For: Challenge 395: Market at [livejournal.com profile] dw100.
Spoilers: Nada.
Summary: Alien marketplaces are full of wonders.
Disclaimer: I don’t own Doctor Who, or the characters.

Martha has never seen anything like this. It’s fantastic; exactly how she imagines a Middle-Eastern bazaar must look. Stalls everywhere, selling everything imaginable, from colourful fabrics to spices, livestock to jewellery, technology to foods… The smells are indescribable.

There are fresh fruits, skewers of meat cooking over grills, piles of cakes and confectioneries and what might be cheeses. Martha wants to sample everything, but when she moves towards a stall selling something spicy the Doctor stops her.

“I wouldn’t, not unless you want to turn blue and have all your hair fall out. Some things aren’t meant for human consumption.”

The End

Technically it was from my Google drive. So I've must have back it up and forgot about it.:)

I have a lot of files stored on my phone. I wanted to free up space by either deleting unnecessary files or transferring them onto a USB and lo and behold, there it was!

Wow. You don't have a phone?

How about a landline?

Sometimes I miss those days.*sighs*

It's always good to backup your backup. But sometimes I get carried away and have to delete a copy.:)

I don't have a landline. I previously used it for dial up.

Modern tech comes with a price...environmental interference.

I'm lucky my brother pay's for mine.:)

You don't really need it. You still have the essentials.

Yeah. I know. I'm an investment. So I'll pay him back. In the meantime, I assist him.:)

I've heard of that. I get sent a verification code for certain job applications. That's the most recent one I had to deal with.

My mum doesn't have an email address.

Just imagine the horror of a blackout where someone couldn't recharged their phone!

It's best if a phone has the password on. Although, I'm not sure if I mentioned previously how one of my TAFE teachers lost her phone. When she try to retrieve it, some guy had already taken it. He pretended that he was going to return it. However, he already got rid of stuff on her phone that was sentimental to her.

"Some people can't get into their house or their car without their phone. What happens if they accidentally lock the phone on their car?"

What?! I didn't know people do that! That sound's more like an inconvenience to me. Maybe they would have to break and enter? No, that wouldn't go down very well.*shakes head*

Eleventh Doctor: Oh, and delete your internet history.

I think the key is to not get too attach to your phone. Think of it like a burner phone. People can also try and hack into your phone as well.

Just imagine if phones could self destruct after they are stolen.*Thinks of Mission Impossible*

I remember when I use to carry an address/phone book. Times have changed.

So people also want to preheat their homes? Okay...

I'll understand if it was something related to home security.

One time, I forgot my mobile phone at home. I called my mum using a public phone. Luckily I had her number on me regardless. It was bit of an adjustment for that day, but nothing to panic about.

It would make it hard to detect if someone had been in the house. Like the opposite of when detectives figure out if someone had just been at the scene of a crime? Leaving a drink that's still warm...

I've thought about this too much.

Yes. A phone is a privilege and should not compromise a persons capabilities for other task's. Some people get tunnel vision and forget about other matters.

Yes.

Some people need to become better communicators. Full stop. I know how text messaging can sometimes get out of hand.

I use to be addicted to multiple texting. I'm glad that I kicked the habit.

Well, that's really extreme. If the person is right there, why don't they just talk to each other. Are they in a cone of silence like in "Get Smart"?

I've learned from bad experiences. I had good intentions but if I'd known the outcome, I could have managed without texting at all.*flashbacks to friendships gone wrong*

In certain scenarios, sure. But how are they going to learn to speak with real people? Deaf people make an effort with sign language and lip reading.*shakes head*

There comes a point where you have to stop engaging if there is a communication barrier. It shouldn't be hard work to speak with people. I was under the misguided impression that I was being informative.*sighs*
