Title: Adam
Author: [livejournal.com profile] badly_knitted
Characters: Ianto, Adam.
Rating: G
Written For: Challenge 599: Creep/Creepy at [livejournal.com profile] tw100.
Spoilers: Adam.
Summary: Adam is a longstanding member of Torchwood Three, isn’t he?
Disclaimer: I don’t own Torchwood, or the characters.
A/N: Double drabble.

Adam is a member of the team, has been for years. He’s Jack’s right hand man and confidante, Tosh’s lover, and the best, most supportive friend Ianto’s ever had. He’s even kind to Owen, the team’s medic and resident nerd. Ianto knows all this, it’s etched indelibly into his mind; Adam is the one person he can trust implicitly with absolutely anything. Even Jack says so. He’s the glue that holds the team together; they’d all be lost without him. Except…

Ianto only looked in his diary to see if he’d noted down anything about the artefact Tosh is studying. He likes to log the interesting stuff and surely the wooden box counts, if only for its curious design and the fact that even Tosh, genius that she is, can’t open it. But…

There’s no mention of Adam in his diary, not anywhere, and the more Ianto thinks about it the creepier Adam seems. And then he’s just… there, which is impossible. Ianto knows he was alone in the Hub, and none of the alarms went off, and yet somehow, as if just thinking about Adam was enough to summon him… Ianto backs away.

“What are you?”

Something’s very wrong.

The End

Nice - and I like the touch that Adam is also Ianto's friend. Slippery little devil and the idea that he had managed to set himself so deeply into their minds in only 48 hours is scary.

Bad enough what he did to the others, but how could he torture Ianto like that? If he hadn't he'd probably have got away with it.It was Jack's steadfast refusal to believe Ianto's miserable confession despite the evidence that saved the situation. Loyal Jack knew and trusted Ianto

What I liked best about this ep beyond learning bits about Jack's childhood - was that Jack never for a moment doubted that Ianto was a good person and in no way responsible for the murders that Adam shoved into Ianto's brain. Honestly, there isn't a hole deep enough, a hell hot enough, an emptiness cold enough to truly mete an appropriate justice to Adam - the damage he inflicted without pause or care, the pain he caused without a blink of an eye, the memories he stole, he tainted - no justice worthy to make him suffer as his victims did. Thanks for this.
