Doctor Who Drabble: Incongruous

Summary: PC Andy Davidson comes across something odd while on patrol.
Disclaimer: I don’t own Doctor Who, or the characters.




The blue police box was an incongruous sight, something that had once been familiar but had long since fallen out of use.


Where this one had come from was anybody’s guess. Andy Davidson was sure it hadn’t been here earlier; he’d have noticed. Perhaps it was a prop for a TV show, or possibly a hoax, or a student prank.


The door opened and a dishevelled head poked out. “Hello there! What year is this?”


“Um, 2005.”


“Oh bother, I’m early.” The head vanished and with a grinding sound, the blue box faded out.


Andy shrugged. He’d seen stranger things.

All Doctors have a British accent, and it's mostly English. I think Peter Capaldi is the only exception with his Scottish accent. I'd live a Welsh Doctor =D

I think the seventh Doctor had a Scottish accent but it wasn't as thick as the Twelfth Doctor's one.

If it wasn't for Rose, the Tenth Doctor could have had David Tenant's real life accent.

A Welsh Doctor would be nice.:)

Sylvester McCoy? I think you might b right, haven't heard him speak in a long time, lol!

I like David's natural accent, but a Welsh or an Irish accent would be cool.

I was a little kid back and didn't grasp the whole concept of the old series. I thought the Seventh Doctors death in the American movie was pretty abrupt.

The chances of a Doctor having a different accent from the one before is getting pretty slim. How many more regenerations are left?:(

I love an Irish accent too. I'm not really picky over those kinds of things.:)

I guess it had to be in the movie. There wasn't a lot of time to play around before the switchover.

The Doctor has unlimited regenerations now, courtesy of the other Time Lords though. Didn't that happen at the end of Eleven's reign? I know a lot of fans weren't happy about it, but I was pleased because it means the show goes on.

Some British accents I don't like. There was an Irish student when I worked at the university who had the most delicious voice imaginable =D

It was just so violent but what else is instant besides gun shot wound?

I tend to forget those minor details. Good to go back and rewatch though. I don't mind the reset on regenerations either. We can still hope for a ginger Doctor!

Yeah, gunshot in the right place is quick all right.

Me too, I'm very forgetful. That's why I like re-watching things.

It didn't hurt that this student was also gorgeous. Half the library staff (the female staff) had a crush on him. We all talked about is 'come to bed' voice. I was only 16 or 17 at the time, he would've been a few yr=ears older.

I just remember that the shot wasn't fatal. It was when Grace was operating on the Seventh Doctor, mistaking him as human is what killed him.

And then Eight Doctor kisses her?

Okay, sure.:)

Good shows deserve a rewatch and missed episodes are considered a "flashback" in my book.

He sounds heavenly. I wish I could have met him.;)

RTD, continued to run with the "everybody kisses the Doctor or vice versa" trend. Then Moffat continued that marathon.

I wonder what we will have next?

The American movie went its own way and twisted some things.

RTD loves one sided love affairs, where one person has all the power and treats the other badly.

I met quite a few genuinely nice guys among the students, and even some of the professors. I loved working there.

I know some people don't want to acknowledge that it happened. Eric Roberts as the Master could be part of it.

RTD has co-dependency issues.

I'm not sure where that series "Bob and Rose" fits but that was loosely based on a real life couple.

I know about Bob and Rose, though I never watched it, but I didn't know it was based on real live. It gives a skewed perspective though, making some people believe that anyone can stop being gay if they find the right woman. It fosters the belief that being gay is something 'curable'.

Apparently, RTD said he based it on a real life friends experience so take it how you want to.

The story should have been that Bob was bisexual and it was all new to Rose.

I suppose so. Bob had a best friend and she was in love with him and he falls for Rose instead.

Okay, Rose was cautious about Bob at first since the creepy taxi guy but leaves her then boyfriend for Bob. Later on finding out his sexuality, chaos ensures, they break up over something stupid temporarily and later on her mothers boyfriend makes a pass at her. That's the gist of it.

Sorry, but you sound like your talking about an ex-boyfriend when you say: I'm through with RTD.:D

Doesn't sound like much really happens if it can be boiled down to that synopsis. I definitely haven't missed anything.

I left out some bits. Bobs mum is played by Penelope Wilton who you know best as Harriet Jones. Who defends her sons actions by saying that he is attracted to men but also one woman.

Me too! Penelope acted with the same kind of enthusiasm as Harriet Smith so not missing out on much.

Also Jessica Stevenson, (Bobs friend) is in it too. You know her as Verity Newman on Doctor Who.

Seems RTD is in the habit of re-using actors - except for Gareth David Lloyd, and Burn Gorman, and Naoko Mori. he just killed their characters and forgot about them.
