DISGUSTED!!!

It's no exaggeration to say I feel violated. Someone on FF.Net has taken one of the stories I posted last night (a FAKE ficlet titled 'A Hearty Breakfast), added vile and repulsive content to it, and posted it as their own work. They've also done the same with another story by somone else in a different fandom.

I don't get what makes someone like this tick. This person also had the nerve to 'review' my story before stealing it, if they hadn't I might not have learned about the sickening plagiarism because I went to their profile page looking for a way to ban them or report them. I'm both glad and sorry I found out, because I can't un-see what they added to my story.

I've reported them, so I only hope that will help. If any of you have acounts on FF.Net, I'd appreciate your support over getting this person banned. They call themselves Horenissa.

this is disgusting, I found her and the story which she calls A breakfast to die for and I will be reporting her on that under not the property of the uploader, this is so wrong she has done this.

Thank you, it's a horrible thing to do, especially the way she's debased my work by adding such disgusting stuff to it. And not just one of my stories, but another author's too. People like this can't be allowed to get away with such behaviour.

Yes, so pathetic!

I think you might need an account on ff.net, but if not, at the very bottom of the story page, there's a row of three tabs. The first one says 'Actions', click that and select 'Report Abuse' then select from the menu the one that says Not the property of the uploader and write a message in the box.

Can't remember her name offhand, but the other plagiarised writer contacted me this morning by PM to offer her support. So sweet, there are some lovely people around, they're not all vile trolls. The plagiarism was bad enough, but the vile desecration of my story *shudders* Just too disgusting for words. I hope the perpetrator gets banned, the sooner the better.

Judgmental? You committed the worst act possible against a writer. You want to improve something, improve your own ethics and leave other people's work alone. If you want to write, create your own material, but NEVER steal another person's and say you 'improve' it. You didn't.

I told her she's an infantile and pathetic attention-seeker, and should stop humiliating herself.

I hope so too. I suppose even getting slapped down just strokes her ego. If she behaves like this offline, I hope someone will teach her the error of her ways before she gets herself in serious trouble. Children need boundaries and the way she acts, no one ever set them for her.

She claims this one is less disgusting than her other two, but I only checked the opening line to make sure she'd committed plagiarism again. *sigh* I've reported her again, but nothing short of being banned will stop her, she's enjoying the attention too much.

Appalling! How dare they call themselves a writer. If you want to do a transformative work, you ask the writer's permission, but it sounds like this doesn't even qualify as such.
This is even worse than when people were stealing fics off AO3 and trying to sell them as ebooks. At least they weren't corrupting the author's intellectual property, though I certainly don't condone trying to make a profit off someone else's IP (even if it's fanfic).

It's horrific that anyone could stop so low, and I feel for the other victim too, who is lovely and sent me a PM this morning to offer support.

I'm waiting impatiently for ff.net to take action against this disgusting person. Thank you for taking a stand against them, I really appreciate it. People cannot be allowed to get away with such foulness.

The timing of all this, when I'm already under a lot of stress, sucks. It would be so nice to wake up in the morning and find the individual gone.

I laughed at her response to the other pm for so many reasons, not the least of which was that she started the "judgemental" bit by leaving the review in the first place. The fact that she felt the need to leave effusive reviews on her own entries (I won't dare call them anything else), praising how good it was tells us all we need to know about how mesed up she is (and yes, messed up was not the word I used in my head) The longer it goes on the angrier it makes me. She should be so glad there's a whole Pacific ocean separating us because I'd want to go over there and slap that smug little emo smirk right off her face.

Not that it seems to be helping, little troll is still there, 'threatening' to continue her 'game' and no amount of pointing out to her that she's just making a fool of herself is getting through. I would see if you can email someone at FF too if you get no proper response from them soon, as it appears she's going to continue this bad behaviour until they sort her out, which they NEED to do and SOON, or it leaves things wide open for other similar abuses.

And now a third person, someone on my f-list here, has been hit too! Thankfully I was able to tell her what I know, so she's reported the troll too, as have some of her friends, I believe. I did also send an email to their support address, and another report myself, so FF had better get off their asses and ban this child soon, because she won't stop as long as she's getting attention.

One of these times, she might target someone young and easily hurt, she's randomly hitting the smaller fandoms, it seems, the ones with fewer writers, picking out a short, recently posted fic, and so far it's only been mature and confident writers. i don't even believe she knows anything about the fandoms she picks, not from what she added to my fic. It's all just so lame and pathetic.

I was stressed about it for the first day or two, but now I'm just so over the whole thing. It's too pathetic to bother about, I just hope ff deals with her before someone actually is harmed by her.
