Summary: The Doctor and Donna have a night on the town.

“Are you drunk?” Donna asked the Doctor, hands on hips and a stern expression on her face.


“I do believe I am!” He grinned back at her, that slightly manic grin she was already so used to. “Rather fun, isn’t it?”


“You won’t be sayin’ that in the morning, Sunshine!” she assured him, steering him in the direction of the TARDIS. “I should confiscate your keys, You’re in no condition to drive; we’d be goin’ around in circles.”


Although he could’ve shrugged off the effects any time he wanted, the Doctor decided he’d stay drunk just a little while longer.

Oh that is too funny! I have not watched a lot of Dr. Who, but loved the 10th doctor and I think it was the 9th with Jack that was funny too. Never knew they even got drunk I guess, but haven't seen the shows in awhile. I got a few seasons of Torchwood and one of Dr. Who the 10th doctor on DVD's.

Ok, getting confused which is 10 and which is 11? lol! The one in your icon is the one I like, but there was another one that was really funny that had Jack Harkness in as well. Yeah Donna was great! :)

Ten was David Tennant, the one in my icon. Eleven was Matt Smith. We're on Twelve at the moment (played by Peter Capaldi), but this is his last season. Don't know who will take over. The other one with Jack was the Ninth Doctor (Christopher Ecclestone).

Oh number 9 was the other one I liked, yes and 10. Not seen the shows with the 11th doctor. He was the one that looks really young I think. Not seen 12 either come to think of it. lol!

Yes, Eleven was the young one, Matt Smith was just so good. Twelve is much older, Peter Capaldi is in his late Fifties now, I think.

Yeah I remember seeing 12. I guess I should check out the shows. So many I have never seen. Dr. Who has been on forever. Michael used to watch them when he was a kid, talking 30 + years ago. I really started watching after I found TW. I wanted there to be more TW but after he started killing all the main cast I got fed up with it and of course not on now though kept hearing rumors it might come back.

Torchwood Season Five is going to be an audio adventure thing. I doubt I'll bother unless Ianto is brought back. With Russell T Davies involved, that's unlikely. It'll be all about Gwen probably and I hate her anyway.

I was watching Doctor Who in the late Sixties, so I beat Michael by a few decades ;) Watched from the Third Doctor onwards.

Oh that sucks that it will be all audio and yeah with that idiot doing TW there will be no Ianto I hate Davies and his view of life, should have taken lessons from Gene Roddenberry, in Sci-fi anything is possible. I loved Ianto and Jack and yeah not a big fan of Gwen. They killed off everyone I liked pretty much.....and I meant I remembered the 11th doctor, Matt Smith the young one, not sure why I put 12 there. I have not seen him. Love your Icon! Perfect!!! :)

Yeah, he's just such a 'destroy everything, make everyone suffer' kind of person. I don't want doom and gloom in my entertainment, I want to see the heroes winning not getting killed and beaten.

Yes Davies is a jerk, he always said he was being realistic, To Kill EVERYONE is realistic?! ...and it is sci-fi, I am the same way, I want happy endings and beginnings. The worst part too was he usually let the idiots live, not meaning Jack, but everyone else gone. And yeah died in awful ways, acted like there was no afterlife. We just fade away which I don't believe or go somewhere horrible which was worse.

Yeah lately my brain is just gone, not sure why I put the doc as 12. lol!

1 and 2 are right next to each other on the keyboard - it's easy to hit the wrong one.

His idea of realism sure isn't mine. He he was being realistic, Gwen would have died, Rhys wouldn't have come back after being killed, Owen wouldn't have come back as an undead dead person... It's Sci-fi, how realistic can any of it be? And why should it even need to be realistic?

Honestly, there was nothing realistic about CoE from beginning to end, despite his protests of realism.

Owen being an undead dead person made no sense at all! I hated that. If he had any sense he would have written stories around the characters that had chemistry like Tosh and Owen and of course killing Ianto was his biggest mistake. The chemistry between him and Jack was amazing. People would have watched the show forever to see them together.

I agree, but most of the time the other characters got sidelined to make more time for Gwen and her uninteresting life. She was the only character RTD was really invested in, the others were just there because the BBC wanted a team show with JB as Captain Jack as the lead. RTD got rid of all the other characters as fast as he could in order to make the show even more about Gwen, despite the fact that Gwen was largely disliked by fans. =(

Well see that just shows what an idiot he is! Always listen to the fans. I didn't know that was why he killed them off. The first 2 seasons had some great shows, but way too much Gwen. Why did he only care about her? What successful TV show makes it on only 2 main characters? Stupid.

Gwen was like RTD's self-insert character, as far as I can make out, he thought she was an amazing, perfect woman, the person he'd be if he was a woman. He created her and he doted on her, and because he's such a genius (in his own mind), he thought everyone else would think her amazing and wonderful too. Idiot. He knows nothing about what makes a strong, female character - self-important, arrogant, condescending, argumentative hypocrites are not in the least bit admirable =[

I completely agree. I loved Tosh. I thought she was so smart and sweet. I wanted her to get together with Owen, that is a living Owen, not the undead one which made no sense anyway. Gross!

I didn't know that about RTD and Gwyn, she was pushy and not likable at all and why does Rhys get to come back from the dead but not Ianto. Cause RTD wanted it that way for some reason I can't figure out. He kept the people I liked the least like I said. Could have been such a great show too, it was, but he messed it up.

I've written lots with Owen and Tosh together, they make a great couple, Tosh keeps Owen in line.

I think Rhys lived because RTD promised us that nothing bad would ever happen to Gwen. The others got all the misery and death so Gwen could have everything she wanted, not realistic at all. RTD is as big a hypocrite as Gwen is.

RTD is a hypocrite. Something wrong with him I think, maybe he wants to be Gwyn like you were saying. How could he not see what a great show it was because of everyone else involved?! The humor, Ianto was always cracking me up with that straight British and sometimes playful humor of his. Tosh was super sweet and too scared to tell Owen how she felt about him. As a team on missions they were fantastic. Oh I remember in the episode called "Meat" I think, Ianto kicks ass and I just loved it! He sometimes seem to be leaning on Jack, then again he would fight to the death for Jack and the whole team. So much promise and RTD just killed the show, literally! To me there is no more TW. I want to pull out my first 2 seasons again and watch them. The 3rd one had some moments but just too hard watching Ianto die and some other scenes that were just horrible. Of course in season 2 I think we lost Tosh, that was a hard one for me too oh and Owen too, I remember now. Sucks!

I agree, but RTD is an idiot who has said on more than one occasions that he doesn't care what fans think. He claims he doesn't need fans, just viewers. He doesn't even understand why people were upset about him killing Ianto, and even now probably thinks it was just a minority of viewers that were unhappy. After all, how could anyone not be pleased with more screen time for wonderful, amazing Gwen? *SARCASM*

We are running out of page here but, I was thinking, the fans ARE the viewers! Is he dense or is it just me that doesn't see that?! He can keep Gwen. He destroyed the show and doesn't even see it. Even John and the girl who played Gwen, my brain is gone, said on a panel of just the two of them as they sat down....It wasn't our idea to kill Ianto!!!...to the audience. They knew people were upset, but I guess they didn't have a choice either. I get your sarcasm! Me too!

Fans are more invested in shows than mere viewers though. Fans are the ones who get upset and angry, viewers just watch and probably barely remember or care what happens. RTD wanted the ratings without people being up in arms about what he does to the characters. I guess we made him uncomfortable, he can't stand being criticised.

Actors seldom get a say in what happens to their characters.

Oh I see, I guess here in America we have shows like NCIS has tons of fans and when someone has to leave or is killed off really messes with the ratings, I assume most of us that watch that show are fans. It has been the #1 TV show here for 13 or 14 years. I think the ratings are starting to drop though since we lost one character that was just too loved and important. You can't replace him. So I thought TW was the same way, I figured you watched it if you were crazy about the show. It is either different in England or I don't get how all this works. They have some kind of rating system where they track people here, not me, that want to watch shows to see what is viewed the most. Never really understood it.

Well like I said RTD should listen to the fans and he would have had a long running show I bet.

I don't really know how it works either, but some people don't really care what they watch. RTD wants that kind of viewer, well tough, he doesn't like the fans? We don't like him!

I just saw he NCIS ep. where Tony leaves a few weeks ago. Not sure how I'll feel about next season without him. Not sure how many years behind we are over here either =/

Guess I'll still watch for Abby and Ducky.

Over 900 years old, and you'd think he was 9, and Donna has to be the responsible adult in the room.....

Somehow, though, I think he will be able to sleep it off and metabolize it so he doesn't get a hangover (not unless he really wants the experience).

I read somewhere (researching) that Time Lords can just shake off the effects of alcohol at will, so he'll probably do that when he's tired of being drunk, lol!

He feels comfortable letting Donna take charge, that's why he knows he can try being drunk without worrying.

Donna offers him a safe place to just be himself and try things out he'd never try with anyone else. She'll keep him from doing damage to himself.

I read that about Time Lord metabolism as well; it's a choice to eliminate it immediately from his system or experience it.
