Fic Of The Week - Week Sixty Nine

Hi there! Fic of the Week time again!

I'm being daring and choosing a slightly longer fic this week, but that's okay - everyone else has probably already read it anyway, lol!

Torchwood Blues is milady_dragon 's Torchwood Big Bang fic from 2010 that I didn't get around to reading at the time. There are 10 chapters and an epilogue, so it's still not hugely long.

Summary: In the aftermath of the 456 invasion and the birth of their son, Jack
and Ianto retire from Torchwood and decide to travel.  Nearly a year later they
end up in New Orleans, where they're dragged back into Torchwood business when an old enemy steals a dangerous piece of alien technology.

Author's notes: This was written for Torchwood Big Bang, and is my first time
writing something like this.  This story is based on situations from the movie
"Undercover Blues" starring Dennis Quaid and Kathleen Turner.  It's also a
fix-it, in that certain events that occurred during the entire run of Torchwood
happened quite differently; examples being that Toshiko, Owen, and Ianto never died, Owen is not a zombie, Ianto is immortal, and Gwen didn't break the Retcon she received after her discovery of Torchwood.

I still have a few of yours to read, 'cause it's nice to treat myself sometimes to something I know I'm gonna love! The ones I haven't read are mostly reel_torchwood or Big Bang fics because I just NEVER have time to read those when they're posted.

I will write you a proper comment when I get to the end, instead of on each chapter.
I've not read any of your stuff before, but I'm liking what I've seen so far and will probably have to go hunt out your back-catalogue when I'm done with this one! :-)

You haven't read any of milady_dragon's fics before? 0.0 That's like.... sacrilage or something! There's the whole Dragon-Verse, and the On-Verse, and the Armageddon-Verse, and loads of reel_torchwood fics, and Wizard and Deathless (which admittedly I haven't read yet myself because those are loooooong stories), but they're all brilliant, read more! Read EVERYTHING! =D

I've read 2 chapters of this one so far, hope to fit some more in today. milady's fics are always a treat!
