Summary: Ianto’s nowhere near as enthusiastic as Jack about the Rift’s latest gift.

“Isn’t she a beauty?” Jack enthused, walking around the spaceship that had fallen through the Rift.


Ianto studied the small craft dubiously. To him, it looked like any other corroded hunk of junk, just considerably bigger than anything the Rift usually dumped on them. “Looks like its been in the wars,” he finally said. “Can’t see it ever flying again.”


Jack hand-waved Ianto’s concerns away. “Just cosmetic damage. A bit of work and she’ll be good as new, you’ll see. It’s about time we had our own spaceship!”


Closing his eyes, Ianto groaned. So much for taking the weekend off.

It'll be fun once it's up and running, but Ianto just knows Jack will rope him in to clean it. As if the SUV wasn't bad enough!

They'll get it working, and when they get into space Ianto will be thrilled.I'm sure Jack will do his bit, remember how well he kept the Chula ship. They'll really be able to get away for short trips at first.

It will be worth the effort in the end, but Ianto wanted one weekend of not having to work, and it looks like he won't be getting it, poor boy.

Ah, yes. I can see this becoming an "every other weekend" project. It'll be worth it though. There's probably times when a spaceship would come in real handy.

It's not like Torchwood gets weekends off very often anyway, poor Ianto was looking forward to a couple of days doing nothing, and now Jack wants him to clean and help fix his new acquisition... I think Ianto might insist on his weekend off. The spaceship can wait, it's not fixable in a weekend anyway, although it will be useful once it works...
