Welcome to another edition of Fic of the Week!

I'm being surprisingly daring this week, picking a fic off ff.net, by a teenage writer, so please don't strangle me if spelling and grammar are below the usual standards - I usually only rec fic on ff.net if I've already read and enjoyed some of the writer's other fics, but in this case the plot just sounded too intriguing to ignore.

So, this week's fic, Project Jones by zoball, is relatively recent - March 2011 - and is seven chapters long.

Summary – Ianto Jones worked for Torchwood One for two years. But after an accident leaves him different from the rest of humanity, he is imprisoned by his employers and two years on, it is time for him to escape. This is his story.

I love reading fics where Ianto comes to Torchwood Three in a different way, so the summary caught my attention.

Fic is here.

Here's hoping it turns out to be as interesting as it sounds!
Happy reading, everybody! (I hope!)

I enjoyed this. A new author to me. Thanks for finding her.

I peeeked at the first couple chapters and bookmarked the rest for when I have more time for reading. It seems quite intriguing, and the spelling/grammar is well above what you usually find on ff.net, from writers of any age. Just shows you can't judge a book by its cover! (*Rimshot*)

Sounds good. I can overlook a few plot holes if the story is good (the show itself certainly has enough of them!) and a few typos here and there don't bother me. Goodness knows I'd be a hypocrite if it did, as I let enough of my own slip through without even realizing it.

And you're right, there are gems on ff.net (I mean, *we* post there :-p). When I first got into "Who" I read a lot there, but got tried of combing through the sheer volume of stuff--good, bad, or indifferent--to find them. That's when I came back to LiveJournal. :)
