Summary: Sometimes Time Agency work is very straightforward.

A/N: Companion piece to The Disappearance Of Agatha

Jack caught the famous author as she fell through the vortex. Other Time Agents were already dealing with the man who’d abducted her, planning to make his fortune by having her write novels he’d then pass off as his own.

“Sorry about that. Let me buy you a drink.”

Retcon had its uses. At least history was clear on when and where she would be found. All that was left was to put her in the Hydropathic Hotel and check her in – he knew the name to use and a bit more Retcon would deal with the staff.

Easy job.

Thanks! Couldn't tell it all in one drabble, so I split it into two from different perspectives. It was the only way to tell both sides of the story.

Well, there's no Rift in Surrey as far as I know, so having someone abduct her for their own purposes seemed the most plausible idea. I suspect it was a rogue Time Agent, but Jack's not saying...

I realised I needed two to tell the whole story, so this one was kind of a bonus. I don't know if I'll manage any more, there are ideas sort of simmering but it depends if anything comes of them. Not my favourite prompt, but Agatha saved me. Even so, I wouldn't have thought of it if I hadn't put out an S.O.S. for ideas. I love my f-list!

Well, they have to keep history as it should be, and thankfully Agatha's disappearance is well-documented, so they knew exactly where, when, and under which name to return her. Poor dear never remembered her abduction and trip to the future though. Even sadder, she never remembered Jack.... He was devastated, but sacrifices have to be made sometimes.

Thank you. It was originally going to be Torchwood itself involved, but I couldn't work out how to do that in 100 words, so I took the easy way out and used the Time Agency, lol!
