OUCH!
*whimper* Everything hates me!
A couple of days ago I hurt my wrist - no idea how, but it's making life difficult. But now the blasted metal clothes prop has fallen on my already bad toe and I can barely hobble. All this on top of backed up drains and I feel like crawling under the bed and staying there permanently =(
Don't mind me, I'm just feeling sorry for myself. *whimper*

Dr. Owen recommends curling up with a nice pet and some fluffy fic. :)

Got a cold cloth on my toe - I suspect it might turn interesting colours soon. *wibble*
Thanks for the sympathy *hug*

I hate being injured too. I got a nasty burn on my thigh just before Christmas and though the pain was bad, being bed-bound (I couldn't move around or the blisters would pop) for a few days was worse. It's so frustrating not being able to do stuff.
Rest, and cold compresses, really are the best thing though. Keep it up! (Literally!).
*HUGS*

Ouch, that sounds far worse than my squashed toe! Thanks for putting my whinginess into perspective, I hope your burn is all healed now!

It was my own fault--I put a cup of hot coffee from the drive-through in my lap. The lid wasn't on properly, the driver accelerated, and... yeah. Lots of screaming ensued, followed by the biggest, ugliest blisters I've ever seen. I didn't post about it because I felt like such an idiot. :-p
Thank you! It's all healed now, though there's a dark mark about the size of my palm to remember it by. Glad my experience could help somebody, if only in showing that as far as stupid accidents go, it could always be worse. ;)

Also, drainage engineer has been and cleared the blockages - took him about an hour and a half, I felt like such an idiot that it took me so long to realise there was even a problem o_O
Ack! That must have been agonising! So glad you've healed up. Hopefully the mark will fade over time.

Glad to hear your hand is improving, burns can be nasty.

So sorry things are yucky, and hope you feel better soon. *hugs you again*

The stress is getting me down though, it's one thing after another at the moment. *sigh*
Hope you're feeling better today *hugs back*

Hope the mobility gets better tomorrow. I've a bum knee myself, so I feel your pain. *huggles*

Ugh. Yeah, it can be a hassle, not to mention expensive. I got a slightly less old cr last November and I was dreading putting it through its annual service in case I'd made a gigantic mistake and bought myself another money pit, but I got lucky, it only needed one small bit of welding.

The work on my car shouldn't be too much of a hassle, I can take it in any time, and we likely wouldn't have to be without it for very long.

I'm okay today, toe is sore but I can walk, I just look a bit like a penguin!
Better yet, the drain blockages have been cleared, it was a pretty big job but carried out very efficiently thank goodness!

Make sure you have plenty of ice packs in the house and take a nice cuddle with Nosy, he'll look after you.

No ice, we've lost the ice packs since we had to swirch to a smaller freezer, no idea where I put them, so I just wrapped my toe in a cold, wet cloth. Now my foot is freezing, but I'm fairly sure my toe won't fall off at least. Nosy is being fluffily sympathetic.

It sounds like you are having a crappy time. I really hope it improves for you soon and your toe and wrist make a speedy recovery!
I agree with the recommendations for snuggling up in bed with a hot drink, fic and something to cuddle. *hugs* x

I have to get up at 7 tomorrow, because the drainage engineer could show up any time after 8, so I'll try to get an earlier night, but the stress has given me a headache so I'm just wondering what will fall off first - my hand, my toe or my head. *limps off to bed*

Thank you, I'm limping but my toe didn't fall off so that's good. The wrist's a pain though. I have weak wrists so injuring them isn't unusual, but it takes so long to heal and hampers everything.

Yeah, I was even enjoying doing some gardening, but then the wrist started hurting, and that probably contributed to me losing control of the prop... *sigh* Some weeks I think I'd have been better off staying in bed!
Thank you.

Sometimes it's quite okay to feel a little sorry for yourself.
I feel for you, too. Get better soon.

Things are improving - I'm walking almost normally now, once I get up some momentum, lol! My wrist is slowly improving, it would probably be faster if I didn't keep forgetting my physio excercises. I've always had trouble with my wrists - I injured one playing pacman, then injured it again reading a book... This time don't know what caused it, though it might have been pulling up ivy in the gsrden, or sorting files on my computer, or using my new manual die cutting machine, or a combination of all those things. *shrugs* I have very thin, weak wrists. Always have had.

I hope you are already feeling better!

I'm much better, I can walk almost normally now instead of waddling, the drains have been unblocked so that's a huge relief and we have special drain insurance so we only have to pay the excess, which isn't much. Even my wrist is improving though I still don't really know how I hurt it. Then again, I have weak wrists and once injured one through reading a book, so it could literally have been anything.
