The chief exited his office as Dee and Ryo entered the squad room, pushing a handcuffed man in front of them.


“Isn’t that Rufus McGinty?” he asked.


“Yep!” Dee looked like he was about to burst out laughing.


“The warrant only came through an hour ago! Can’t believe you caught him so fast!”


“Neither could we,” Ryo admitted.


“Product of the smartphone generation,” Dee smirked. “He was so busy tweeting about his latest escapade, he didn’t even see us until Ryo snapped the cuffs on him.”


“They confiscated my phone!” McGinty complained


“That’s the least of your troubles,” Ryo replied.

Haha! Yep, the hyperrapid advance of technology will get 'em every time! If people aren't wandering in a pixelated haze, ignorant of their surroundings, then social media will make them easier to trace.

Technology does have some unexpected benefits that the cops are happy to exploit wherever possible. Being in jail is going to be hell fot Rufus without his phone, lol!

Lol, so true. I've heard so many cases where it's been a real aid for them; law enforcement must love all the modern tech! (Man, if only it'd been around when Jack the Ripper was around.)

They'd have caught the Ripper for sure if it had been. That mystery will never be solved, but there are still plenty of theories and endless speculation anyway.
