This post is pretty much just for me, because I got so tired of searching out some of my favourite instrumental pieces on youtube. I suddenly had the brainwave of gathering them together for my listening pleasure. They're mostly fiddle and/or guitar, with one dobro track thrown in because Jerry Douglas is awesome and I've loved this one since the first time I heard it.

Jay Ungar - Ashokan Farewell (Civil War Soundtrack)
Mark O'Connor - Pickin' In The Wind (Full Album) I own this, but I've got nothing I can play it on right now.
Chet Atkins - Cascade (This was literally my introduction to the late great Chet Atkins, on the Val Doonican show, and Cascade remains one of my favourite pieces by my guitar hero)
Chet Atkins & Jerry Reed - Jerry's Breakdown (My two favourites together).
