Title: Just Like The Legends

Spoilers: Robot Of Sherwood.

Summary: Robin Hood isn’t real. Or is he? Depends on your definition of ‘real’.

Disclaimer: I don’t own Doctor Who, or the characters.

“No such thing as Robin Hood.”

The Doctor had been so sure he was right and that Clara would be disappointed, but the figure before them dressed in Lincoln green certainly looks a lot like the Robin Hood of legend. Not that the Doctor has any intention of believing it. He must be an illusion, or an impostor, or something. Robin Hood isn’t real and nothing will convince the Doctor otherwise.

Being both right and wrong at the same time is interesting; this Robin isn’t a real person, he’s a robot.

But that doesn’t prevent him from being a hero.

Bizarre timing: I was thinking of this episode when I went to bed, remembering the Doctor being so embarrassing in asking Robin Hood for a specimen! One of those moments where you've got to wonder why Clara puts up with him!

And, sorry, Doctor: You can't be right all the time! ^.^

I wrote this one a few weeks back, but I'm posting in challenge order because I intend to write drabbles for all 600 odd challenges. I'm crazy that way. Amazing coincidence with the timing of posting though =D

He wants to believe he's always right, but even the Doctor can't know everything all the time.

He was, but I can't really blame him. Nobody really knows whether or not Robin Hood actually existed, people are stil arguing over that!

To be fair, Robin was putting on a facade with his laughter which I found slightly annoying so I was on Twelves side. I just think the conflict between the Doctor and Robin would have gone differently had it been Eleven or Ten.

Clara put up with it to a certain degree because she romanticized the Robin Hood legend.

But to be fair to Robin, he was a robot playing a part, so maybe he can be excused at least a bit for the false laughter.

That's the thing with the Doctor - you put put them all in the same situation and each of them would react differently because even though they're all essentially the same person, there are differences in their personalities.

Jack was dissing his screwdriver. But I see what you mean. It can fix or undo things. A sonic blaster blows things apart. I guess it depends which you prefer.

The screwdriver is an excellent tool, and can be used defensively, but sometimes actual firepower is necessary. Jack knows that more than the Doctor I guess. For all his experience, the Doctor rarely has to resort to violence, but Jack didn't often have that luxury. I doubt he prefers weapons, but he knows that they serve a purpose.

Of course Jack has knowledge and resources that are different to the Doctors. When it comes to defending others or themselves.

On the show Chuck, the main character use non-violent strategies as a spy. That is the first time I've seen a spy do that.

Sadly, I've never seen Chuck, though I do know a bit about the series from reading Chuck/Torchwood crossover fics.

The Doctor can't expect everyone to do things the way he does, because they have to live in the universe, in linear time, they don't have the luxury of just hopping over the bits they don't want to deal with.

Chuck: I hate violence. All my video games only go up to PG-13.

I'm thinking of doing a Chuck meets Tosh fic since they are both good at computers. Unless someone has already done that?

The Doctor has certain luxuries over human but still has to suffers consequences.

I've never seen a Tosh and Chuck one, all I've seen have had either Jack, Ianto, or both of them in Chuck's world.

Yeah, and sometimes the consequences are painful to witness.

Oh boy, Jack and Robot Robin! *giggles* I'm sure Jack would want to test out all of Robin's capabilities!
