Spoilers: Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Doctor Who The Sound of Drums and Last of the Time Lords.

Summary: Jack apologises to Ianto.

A/N: This is the other side of my earlier drabble Another Chance . It’s entirely  tardisjournal 's fault for saying Jack probably didn’t have to grovel much to get Ianto to give him another chance.

 

 

 

“I’m sorry. I know I hurt you by leaving that way, but I never meant to be gone for so long. I thought I’d be back in a few hours, a day at most.”

 

“Why weren’t you?”

 

“Everything went wrong, we were captured by a madman; it’s been a year for me, a year of being held prisoner and tortured. All I could think about was you and what a mess I’d made of everything. I wanted so badly to get home to you. If you’ll let me, I swear I’ll make it up to you.”

 

“Promise?”

 

“Yes. Anything.”

 

“Okay.”

LOL!!! That sure wasn't much! Jack didn't even have to buy flowers or go down on his knees.(Unless he was on them when this conversation happened.)

Of course, we don't know what Ianto is going to require to have it made up to him. :-p

It's true, Ianto can be quite fiendish, but whatever Jack has to do, I'm sure he'll be up to the task. Ianto wouldn't demand anything TOO unreasonable. I hope...

Nah, I don't think he would be unreasonable. What would be the point? Ianto more than most knows what it's like to be forgiven and given a second chance! As long as Jack's actions back up his words, there won't be any problem. :)

Yeah, that sound right. At least Jack explained - briefly - and Ianto's just glad he's back, safe, after what he's been through.

Yeah, it was a compelling reason to let Jack off lightly, and Ianto is a fair man. Jack is willing to do whatever it takes though, so that counts for a lot with Ianto. He figures Jack deserves a second chance.

You're right. Jack has a phone, he can always leave a message on Ianto's phone if he gets called away suddenly. Ianto just wants Jack to be considerate.

Blame tardisjournal ! She commented on the last drabble that she didn't think Jack would have to grovel much, which inspired this one.

Honestly, I think once Ianto knew some of what Jack had been through, and could see how sincere Jack was about wanting to make it up to him, he was willing to give him a second chance. Jack will still have to prove himself though.

I hope Ianto isn't too hard on Jack and doesn't make him do too much to make it up to him. Jack has been through so much already.

I think Ianto has already let Jack off the hook. Jack has explained what happened, he's apologised and Ianto believes him. All jack has to do now is show by his actions that Ianto is the one he wants. A date will be a good start. The very fact that Jack is willing to do anything to make amends is enough to prove to Ianto that he's sincere.

He still might, a little at least, but now he knows Jack didn't think he'd be gone long and that he REALLY wanted to get back home but couldn't, so Ianto won't be too hard on him.

Well, in my world they were happy for a very long time. I prefer to ignore the events of CoE - obviously that happened in an alternate universe that's nothing like mine, lol!
