A trio of Action Figure pics.
Jack and Ianto really liked their Christmas presents. Coat Jack is a little envious.

For
dieastra , a closer look at some of the Christmas food (I'd put some away by the time I took this photo. I'll try to do another pic of the various foods I've got some other time.)

Nosy enjoys its Christmas dinner.

I paraphrased something that has been used here for years to remind people that giving animals at Christmas is not a good idea unless the recipient is fully prepared to care for their new pet for as long as it lives. The campaign worked well, I believe, with less pets being abandoned after Christmas when their new owners got tired of them.

Date: 2013-01-02 02:21 pm (UTC)Every year around Easter animal rights groups run a similar campaign to discourage people from giving bunnies and baby chicks as pets, but I've not heard much at Christmas. The message is a good one, whatever the time of year. So many people see animals as disposable, it's shocking!

Date: 2013-01-02 04:20 pm (UTC)I never get how people can just toss aside a living creature when they get tired of it or when it gets older and doesn't look so cute. Most of my pets have been unwanted by other people for various reasons. My last 2 guinea pigs, their previous owner had to move and her new landlord didn't allow pets. Another pair, the kids got bored with them, another pair the little boy turned out to be violently allergic to fur. My current rabbit and two previous rabbits were all bred by accident, the two tortoises were both strays who were never claimed, two of my budgies were found in gardens, the cockatiel was unwanted because he only had one leg... All those and more have founds homes here for the remainder of their lives.
