Home Again!
Jul. 7th, 2016 04:25 pmHome at last! Actually got home half an hour ago, but I had to do stuff before firing up my computer and sitting down.
Well, that wasn't too bad. Left here just before 1.30 for my 2pm appointment, checked in at 1.40, was told to take a seat and wait for my name to be called, but got called before I could sit, and was on my way out just before 2. The test was uncomfortable, but bearable even if I might have been walking funny when I left.
There's no taxi rank outside the treatment centre though, so then I had to walk all the way around to the hospital's main entrance, where the taxis live. Got one right away and had the driver drop me off near the shops because I wanted to get some fruit. He dropped me further up the road than I usually ask to be dropped because there was a convenient space, and because of that, I walked past a shop I've never seen before - must be pretty new. All sorts of ethnic stuff, incence and wiccan things, and best of all, crystals! So I spent too much money in there, but managed to have enough left over for fruit.
This is the first time in years I've been able to sort through crystals and handle then before buying. Such a treat, I'll definitely go in there again. Popped round the corner from there and got locally grown strawberries, nectarines, cherries, and some more rhubarb to cook, then walked home, about a fifteen minute walk. Thankfully it didn't rain on me, but I was hot and tired when I got back so I indulged in an ice cream from the freezer. They've been in there since we had a hot spell in May, I've been too cold since then to feel like eating them.
So now I intend to look at my new crystals, and then slob around for the rest of the day. I'm tired and I ache from walking and carrying heavy fruit, doesn't take much to set the aches and pains off. Doesn't matter though. I'm home, just got to check with the doctor in a week for the results. Not a bad day, all things considered.

Date: 2016-07-07 03:53 pm (UTC)I bought some peaches today and sadly they tastet awfully. I wish you more luck with your fruit.
Hopefully you can rest enough, and your pain eases quickly.
I have my fingers crossed for good results next week.

Date: 2016-07-07 04:24 pm (UTC)Peaches can be a problem. The last lot I got didn't ripen, the just went mouldy and I had to throw them out. The last strawberries were a bit tasteless too, but I got locally grown ones this time which should prove nicer. I already know the cherries are lovely, one got a bit squashed so I ate it. Rhubarb is never a disappointment, I want to freeze some more for later.
It's good to be sitting down. I don't want to move but I'll have to. There are things I need to do.

Date: 2016-07-07 06:37 pm (UTC)Any physical exercise results in a lot of muscle and joint pains and I can't take painkillers because of my stomach problems. Good thing I have a fairly high pain tolerance. So, I sit here with my legs and feet throbbing. On the bright side, my back doesn't hurt this time, so there's that. I kind of wish I could take my legs off until they stopped hurting.
*hugs back*

Date: 2016-07-07 10:04 pm (UTC)It's supposed to be summer here, but mostly it's cold and wet with very little sun. At least today was dry and not as cold, so having to go out wasn't as bad as it could have been.
The crystals were a very unexpected treat, but a good reward for being brave. I deserved them!
*hugs back*

Date: 2016-07-07 11:24 pm (UTC)Glad to hear that everything went reasonably smoothly and that karma decided to reward you. Strawberries and cherries and nectarines yummy! That's about the only thing I don't like about winter, the lack of summer fruit.

Date: 2016-07-08 04:20 am (UTC)OMG. Crystals! Pretty, shiny, magic little things! Thanks to you, I have a lovely collection. :) I wish I had a shop like that around here, but it's getting so that places close down rather than start up these days. This town is full of empty storefronts. If I want semi-decent incense, I have to hope that the petrol station up the road actually has some & not just an empty display box on the counter by the register. The last time I bought some & burned it, it smelled horrid. Like the sticks had maybe gotten wet & the resin got wrecked. Gave me a headache & I had to open the windows. ;p
That fruit sounds lovely. Your mention of cherries makes me want a cherry pie.....

Date: 2016-07-08 11:30 am (UTC)Our town is like that. We used to have two shops that sold crystals but they're long gone, along with the only shoe store we had, the book shop that's been there more than 30 years, one of the main chemist's, and a lot of other places. This little ethnic store is off the beaten track, away from the high road where most of the shops are. I got Selenite, Tourmaline, Moonstone, Bloodstone, Rainbow Hematite, Blue Tiger's Eye, Carnelian, an Amethyst egg, and a Champagne Aura Quartz point. A real teat and a reward for being good at my appointment.
I have an ovarian cyst, so they want to keep an eye on it. That means an ultrasound every few months. It's not big, but it has caused some discomfort.

Date: 2016-07-08 11:39 am (UTC)I tend to subsist on stewed plums throughout winter, with occasional imported fruit, and pears. I love than I can get such a good selection of fruit in summer though. Raspberries and blueberries are being bought today. Plus more rhubarb, I'm freezing what I cooked this morning =)

Date: 2016-07-08 01:19 pm (UTC)I'm still achy and sore from walking and carrying things, but at least now I can relax a bit. Haven't sat much today though, too much else needing doing.

Date: 2016-07-11 11:14 am (UTC)The Rhubarb got cooked and frozen for later, so I had a friend pick up some more last Friday. Half of that went in the freezer too, frozen in individual portions. The rest is in the fridge, I had some for breakfast =)
