MERRY CHRISTMAS OR SEASON'S GREETINGS!
Dec. 25th, 2012 01:56 pmMerry Christmas, everybody!
Jack and Ianto settled down to their Christmas dinner...

But they got interrupted by a guest...

Nosy seemed to like the food...

(For anyone wondering, this little beastie was the original inspiration for Nosy - it's a bit big, not long enough and the wrong colour, but let's just pretend it's in its winter coat, lol!)

Date: 2012-12-25 02:59 pm (UTC)It's my first attempt at Action Figure Theatre and I didn't have much time for taking the photos, so I cheated a bit and just moved Nosy. In future, I'll put the boys in different positions too, but it was hard enough to keep them from dropping their glasses and to keep their party hats on, lol!
Glad you liked it!

Date: 2012-12-27 10:37 pm (UTC)Oh yes do I know it! In my Queen pageant scene, Ianto always dropped the tablet with the tea. They also tend to fall over at the worst times.
These pictures are great too! Can I get a closer look at the food next time? More from above? Love your table, it looks almost like the one I have at home!

Date: 2012-12-28 12:42 am (UTC)Everyone's sitting in chairs because the fur fabric I used for the carpet is so thick that they can't stand up on it at all!
They're all tucked up in their beds now!

Date: 2012-12-25 03:25 pm (UTC)As for the idea that Nosy is the wrong color, maybe it changes colors depending on its environment after a while? Or else someone played a joke and dyed its fur...

Date: 2012-12-25 04:35 pm (UTC)I think it's like an arctic hare or something - moults into brown in the winter to blend in with its environment, then green in the summer to hide in the grass. Either that or it's like a chameleon and blends into the background by the fur actually changing colour. Who knows with aliens...
I still want to get some long green fur and try to make a Nosy, lol!

Date: 2012-12-25 04:39 pm (UTC)It's not exactly right - too fat, too short and the wrong colour - but it's what inspired Nosy in the first place. I've had it for years, then I got action figures, so this was inevitable, lol!

Date: 2012-12-25 04:22 pm (UTC)A lovely Christmas treat to see the boys and nosy.
Did you make the tiny little paper chain decorations?

Date: 2012-12-25 04:46 pm (UTC)Yes, I did - they were rather fiddly and rushed, but I think they look okay. I made the party hats and crackers too, though the crackers don't show up too well. I might post some Christmas Party pics another day where they show up a bit better.
I've been planning this and buying stuff for weeks, I'm completely hooked on miniatures now, lol! The boys even have beds.

Date: 2012-12-25 06:39 pm (UTC)awww Nosy looks like a toy I made for my daughter using nylon stockings when she was two or three at kindergarten ...
lovely and looking forward ot seeing more soon!

Date: 2012-12-25 07:39 pm (UTC)I have spent way too much on the boys, buying all the miniature food and furniture, but I wanted them to have a good Christmas. All seven of them are having a party, there's loads of food and drink, I hope they're having a good time. ;)

Date: 2012-12-25 10:14 pm (UTC)Glad you like the pics, I'm getting a bit carried away with playing with my action figues - all seven are enjoying their Christmas party at the moment, wearing party hats and pulling crackers, lol! It'll be their bedtime soon though!

Date: 2012-12-26 04:38 pm (UTC)In the afternoon, all the Jacks and Ianto's gathered together for a party. They're having another get together now, with party hats and crackers, and the leftovers from yesterday, lol!
Glad you enjoyed it! Merry Christmas!

Date: 2012-12-27 12:10 pm (UTC)One day, if I can get some suitable green fur, I'll have a try at making a Nosy that's more in scale with the boys - longer, slimmer and more flexible.

Date: 2012-12-27 06:16 pm (UTC)I think Jack may have already been sampling them--that could explain why he seems oblivious to the fuzzy invader about to steal his cake. :-p At least Ianto looks properly concerned in the last picture.
I love that they have not one but two trees. <3<3 And... NOSY FTW! It's adorable--though shorter and fatter than it appears in its stories, I understand. Well, everyone knows fiction exaggerates. :)

Date: 2012-12-27 09:59 pm (UTC)I forgot to turn their heads, I didn't have much time for the photography so the only thing that got moved was Nosy.
The tree on the right was the one I bought them, but the one on the left is a tree I've had almost all my life. It's very old and battered, but I wouldn't be without it.
I hope to someday make my own Nosy, but its distant ancestor is standing in. When I was inventing a friendly alien for 'Capturing the Beast', I based it on this little critter, but it is a bit on the short and fat side besides being decidely not green. It's got the cuteness factor down though.

Date: 2012-12-28 12:26 pm (UTC)Glad you like Nosy - it's not exactly what I described in my Nosy-Verse fics, but it was the inspiration for the character so it's a good enough stand-in until I can attempt to make one that looks more like Nosy the Fluff.
Thank you!

Date: 2012-12-28 10:45 pm (UTC)I suspect you're right (though Jack would probably love it), but it was the only piece of fur fabric I could find that was a suitable size for a carpet. The can't stand up on it, but that would probably be a plus for Jack too!
