Summary: Tosh is puzzled by Dizzy’s weight gain.

Tosh frowned. Despite feeding it sensibly, Dizzy the Flufflet was starting to look like a purple and black sausage, and getting rather heavy to carry in her bag on her way to work. She couldn’t understand it.

“Looks like you need to go on a diet,” she told it. “Less food and more exercise should slim you down. I don’t know how you can be so fat on a diet of fruit and vegetables.”

It wasn’t until later at the Hub that she realised the problem wasn’t what she was feeding Dizzy, but what it was getting from everyone else.

No more snacks for the Flufflet. Poor Dizzy will be so confused, but it's for its own good. It will have more energy once it's slimmed down a bit.

I can appreciate this. I used to take my cat to work (he was in a show at the time) and all the kids delighted in feeding him. He ended up tipping the scales at 35 pounds before starting to have all sort of health issues. That's when I swore I would never overfeed another cat. Our three now are all maintaining health weights with no people food in their diets. I want to have them a good long time.

Anyhow, this story reminded me of Growl and that made me smile. Thank you.

That's the trouble when you take cute pets anywhere - people spoil them and give them foods that aren't terribly good for them. Then you have to put your foot down. Tosh will lay down the law - no feeding the Flufflet!

Oh dear Tosh will have to put her foot down about the others giving Dizzy too many treats.

There's going to be a big sign going up and flashing messages on their computer monitors saying "Don't feed the Flufflet!" Dizzy will be sad, but once it's back to a healthy weight it'll be allowed occasional treats. It's still too small to be able to handle that many calories.

Poor Dizzy will be in for such a shock when it stops getting treats from the others. It might think its done something wrong *pets Dizzy*

Perhaps Tosh can just get them to feed Dizzy the occasional healthy treat instead - a grape, or an orange segment... At least until it gets back to a healthy weight.
