Spoilers: Journey’s End.

Summary: Donna knows what’s happening to her.

Disclaimer: I don’t own Doctor Who, or the characters.

It wasn’t supposed to end like this. They were going to carry on forever, two best mates travelling the universe, seeing amazing things, saving worlds, and just generally being brilliant. Because she’s like him now, knowing and seeing everything, and she understands the Doctor in ways she couldn’t before. His insane-sounding ramblings make perfect sense now.

In a way, that’s the worst part, because Donna’s head is starting to hurt and she understands what’s happening.

Her overloaded brain is killing her.

She doesn’t want to lose her memories, no matter what it costs.

The Doctor doesn’t give her the choice.

As much as I loath Ten for what he did, I didn't want to see Donna die. The Doctor always thinks he knows whats best.

Yeah, same here. I just wish he could have fixed things without taking all her memories and accomplishments away from her. It seemed so cruel =(

If he hadn't spent all that time convincing Rose to accept his "twin", then he could have done something else. Then again, he only allowed the villains a choice. He just gave up.

Is there a reason he didn't fob watch Donna?

Not that I know of.

The Doctor often seems to have his priorities skewed. I can't help thinking that if it had been Rose and not Donna, Ten would have found a way to save her.

Rose gets out of everything doesn't she?

Rose becomes Bad Wolf, the Doctor saves her.

Rose gets trapped in a parallel universe, she is able to come back because the walls of reality were being compromised.

The list goes on...

No matter what,she still complains.

It's the same with Gwen in Torchwood. RTD goes on about realism, but certain pet characters get to lead charmed lives while the rest have to suffer.

It is, because there are so many other great characters who deserved better than they got.

It was stated that Moffat initially sidelined RTD champions to make way for his own characters but RTD did the same kind of thing.

I think Moffatt was fairer, and he didn't go on about realism, he found ways around seemingly impossible situations. Even Amy and Rory got to live their lives, just in the past.

Clara died and she still had some say in the end.

Martha was the only one who had a choice to walk away which is the least RTD could do considering how her character was handled during series 3.

The message during RTDs run was that it was dangerous to be close to the Doctor. At least compared to Moffats.

RTD is all about peril and gloom and how even heroes can't save the day. Moffatt is more about adventure and beating impossible odds in unlikely ways. Clara may have died, but she's alive in a sort of way.

The Doctor did get sidelined in the series finales in order to prove the champions self-worth didn't he?.

What's Clara's condition called?. Frozen?. Like she delayed her death?

Series 5 had the best finale because it wasn't sad.

I'm not sure, but delayed death seems a fitting term.

He really did, and while I AM interested in the companions and their fates, the show is really supposed to be about the Doctor.

Which one was season 5? I have a bad memory, lol!

It's like the champions "become" the Doctor because he has called in sick for work or something.:D

RTD was about pressing the reset button and Moffat was about remembering.

Rory: How could we forget the Doctor?

Series 5 was Amy and Rory flying happily away in the TARDIS after getting married. A nice shift from the angsty finales of Tens era.

Oh yeah! That was a very happy finale =)

I hated RTD and his reset button. Moffatt's continuity was much more to my tastes. I think he's a better writer than RTD, whose writing skills are, to me, very underwhelming. I know a lot of people disagree though.

I woke up just now with such a hellacious headache, and I know it's stress. But hopefully it'll all be worth it, and I'll be able to move on. Thanks; I like that background, but it didn't seem to fit, so I've just changed it. ^.^

If she only knew that now the Doctor's had to go through something similar, she'd probably go, "Serves you right, Spaceman!"
