Summary: The Rift brings another strange creature.

“Ugh! What is that?” Gwen recoiled with a disgusted expression on her face at the sight of the creature the Rift had seen fit to gift them with. “It looks like some kind of weird fuzzy spider!”

Ianto shook his head. “Can’t be. Spiders have eight legs but this thing’s got ten.”

“It’s a Decapod,” Jack said. “Completely harmless, they’re frugivores and they live in trees. You should see them when they eat fermenting fruit. They get drunk and start tripping over their own legs, bumping into each other, and falling out of the trees.”

“I’ll pass,” Gwen said, shuddering.

A/N2: A frugivore, in case anyone doesn’t know, is a fruit-eater.

Haha, okay, fair enough. :D You can love your creepy, multilegged...thingies. I'm trying to remember if I have any equivalent creations in my own stories; I'm not sure if I do, or not.

My stories are full of a whole host of weird creatures - Nosy and Dizzy the Fluffs, Velvet the Shrodlet, Daisy the Possimpible, Bob, George, the alien butterfly, and a few creatures that remain nameless. Torchwood deserves to have some nice aliens drop in. =)

Unrelated: I just read your M*A*S*H fic a few minutes ago...wow, that was good. Some of the sentences sound exactly like things Hawkeye would say.

Oh, thank you! I'm glad you liked it! It's the only M*A*S*H piece I've written so fart, and I really should do more. I'd been watching repeats on an endless loop, two episodes a day on weekdays and four on Sundays, but even so I wasn't 100% sure of getting his voice right. Hawkeye was always my favourite chaacter =)

Decapods are merry drunks. they'd giggle a lot, I think. if they could giggle. And throw their legs around each other.
