Summary: It’s like a maze, haunted by fear and something else.

Disclaimer: I don’t own Doctor Who, or the characters.

Not everyone is haunted by ghosts. For some it’s the past that fills them with terror, or the future, or seemingly innocuous things that wouldn’t bother most people. Like socks, or balloons, or having their photo taken. Sometimes it’s that scary monster you saw in an old horror movie you shouldn’t have been watching when you were a kid, the one that gave you nightmares for months afterwards.

The hotel is vast, like a constantly shifting maze, and every one of its many rooms contains someone’s worst fear.

But something even more terrifying stalks the corridors, and there’s no escape.

Not my best work, this one, I don't think I really captured the episode as well as I would have liked. Some drabbles just seem to work better than others. Of course I'm always hyper-critical about my writing, lol!

I never planned on writing fanfiction, I just wanted to read. I'm not sure what happened... Now I write so much I hardly have any time to read at all o_O

LOL! I think that is how we all start! I wrote for SG-1 fanfiction (my start with fanfic when I actually knew it was fanfic), after being so inspired by other writers. Of course, I only planned to read. Now I have to find a balance between writing and reading. Which rarely happens for any of us, lol!

I'm a big SG-1 fan!

I've always made up stories in my head about the characters in my favourite TV shows/books/movies. When I was younger I though it was just me, that I was weird in some way, because no one else seemed to. Them back in 2008 a penfriend sent me some Torchwood fanfic she's printed out for me. I didn't even have internet back then. I was amazed, couldn't get enough of it, so I had to get connected to the 'net just so I could satisfy my craving. It was brilliant, I found thousands of other people just like me! Felt like I'd come home =D

Sounds like we had similar child-teenhoods. :D I wrote a bit, but had no idea it was fanfiction. My mother showed me an SG-1 archive when I was in my early 20's and I was hooked (and also duly relieved that I wasn't alone). :D

Computers were still in their infancy when I was in my early 20s.

I never wrote anything down until I wrote my first fanfic on here, I just made things up in my head. I still do that, trying things out for possible future fics and occasionally jotting down notes. I have so many ideas though, I don't really need more.

It's such a great feeling to realise there are other people like us!

Living it as it happens! I still remember living without a phone in the house and with a black and white TV! Now there are three colour TVs in the house, even though I live alone since mum passed. I have a cordless phone and a mobile phone I can barely use even though it's about as basic as you can get, lol!

There are not enough hours in the day for writing, and I write for so many challenges that my WiPs keep getting sidelined in favour of writing for the new prompts. Challenge Week starts tomorrow, but there will be new prompts up at tw100, beattheblackdog, and fandomweekly - can I get writing done for all of them before the first challenge is posted? Doubtful!

We are in excellent company, so many fans and so many fandoms, everyone sharing their passions! I hav e the misfortune of mostly writing in fandoms that are practically dead though (Torchwood and FAKE, so comments are far fewer these days. Lots of kudos on AO3 and favouriting on ff.net, but few people bother to actually leave feedback. It's a shame, but that seems to be a trend even with the more popular fandoms. I miss the golden days.

Gosh, right?!? I don't even have a ton of challenges, but man trying to find the hours in the day...I know you'll give it your best. And you will kick much butt. Heck, you always do - why would you stop now? :D

Yeah...when comments (not likes, kudos and favs) were a Thing. I still comment. Rather compulsive about it, actually. :D But it seems social media has gone rather anti-social. For a while, at least. Tides will shift again. They always do. :D

I always love getting your comments because you show such enthusiasm. =D There doesn't seem to be much of that about these days, which makes me sad. I hope you're right and the tides will turn. Social media just doesn't seem very sociable, I miss that.

I've learned to compute over the years, thanks to a friend of mine who started me off 15 years or more with a very basic laptop, not much more than a word processor with a few games, then upgraded every few months until he finally decided I should have a new, internet ready one. I still didn't get on the internet for a couple of years after that, but I've learned to navigate through trial and error. After I set up my LJ, it took me a week or two to figure out how to get back into it, lol!

I just learned this morning that I've been voted into 2nd place for last week's fandomweekly challenge =D What a great way to start the day! I'm going to get a banner with my name on it! WOOHOO!

I rather miss it myself. I mean, Tumblr and Twitter and FB were fun (for a bit), but I always come back to ElJay. Rather like my social interaction. :D It'll come back around, though. The net is for introverts...but it forces them to socialize in SOME form. So They'll get better at it. Tis just the latest wave. :D

Hee!! Think that was everyone, though! I had an Apple II when I was a kid (my grandmother insisted) and so I thought of a computer as a typewriter with a calculator function (bonus cool games like the original Prince of Persia) for the longest time. But once I got on the Net, I was THERE. :D

*bounces* I was so happy, I really didn't expect to place, only three people commented on my fic. I think I got 5 comments last week and didn't get a place on the winner's board so I figured this week there was b=no chance. Happily, I was wrong =D

The internet is so fantastic! I was awfully shy at first, I didn't friend anyone because I thought you had to ask first and that everyone would say no because I didn't write or anything. I know better now, lol!

I hope you're right, people need to learn to talk to each other, it's far more rewarding than just clicking a button.

Just goes to show, you never know what will happen! :D I've had fictions that have never placed but received oodles of comments - and fictions that placed or won where you could have blown tumbleweeds through the post, lol! Just never know. :D

I think that happens to everyone. We are all so nervous - but then, it turns out that most of the natives are friendly! So glad I ventured out (and I know you are as well!)

It's impossible to predict what will do well or prove popular. Don't know what I'll write this week yet. I got my tw100 drabbles written nand a piece for beattheblackdog, so that's a start. Challenge Week has started and I have that to write for as well as fandomweekly, so I've got a busy writing week ahead of me!
