Title: Being Normal

Author: [livejournal.com profile] badly_knitted

Characters: Eleventh Doctor

Rating: G

Written For: Challenge 027: Lazy mod week at [livejournal.com profile] dw100, using Challenge 019: Dressed / Undressed.

Spoilers: The Lodger.

Summary: The Doctor is confident in his ability to be normal.

Disclaimer: I don’t own Doctor Who, or the characters.

Trying to be a normal human is interesting. There’s so much to remember; paying rent, proper greetings, being complimentary to the landlord…

Showers are great; all that hot water, and good acoustics for singing. Just have to remember to undress before standing under the water, and put something on when you get out. Towels are good. Wet floors are slippery, and electric toothbrushes aren’t effective weapons, even if you’re in a hurry because someone might be in danger.

Still, the Doctor feels confident that he’s fitting in. He can be just as normal as the next man if he tries.

The End

Funny how Craig said one of the reasons he was suspicious of Eleven was because he talked to a cat? .

I guess I'm wierd then.:D

Or a dog person. Craig was probably just freaking out about Sophie leaving him.

Craig: And everybody loves you, and you're better at football than me, and my job, and now Sophie's all "oh, monkeys, monkeys!" and then there's that! (throws open door to reveal the weird device the Doctor has constructed out of various objects) What is this?

Eleven turned out not to be so bad at fitting in as a human. He just seems odd at first.

The Doctor's reaction was priceless. Of all the things to be accused of.

Oswin: Bad combination. That sense of humor and that chin.

Eleven: Whats wrong with my chin?.(taps chin with his fingers while looking at his reflection)

Yeah. I think Moffat said something about how Matt had this distinctive facial profile.

I think Eleven was the most funniest?, Doctor in the new series.

Eleven was the best with children and had no alpha male tendencies. Qualities I liked in this incarnation of the Doctor.

It wasn't fun seeing Ten being reminded of his inevitable "death". He wasn't the same after losing Donna.

I was glad when Eleven popped up.

I think alot of people will agree with your point of view. It was like Ten's farewell tour.

*past Rose. (We already saw her enough as it is)
*present Donna. (this made me sad and annoyed)
*future Martha & Mickey.
*Sarah Jane (last appearance on the series)
*Jack depressed over Ianto. I don't think it was the right time to match make him.

When Moffat took over, it was like a reboot again.

I was annoyed that RTD made it so that Wilf knocked four times. Didn't the Doctor tell him about that?.

Sometimes I think it would have been better if Ten had "died" earlier without the six specials. I was really over the angst.

Exactly. I like to get in touch with my inner child when I watch family shows. Not be reminded of life's hardships.

I wonder how children who watch the show thought of the specials.

The Doctor has gone undercover before and after this event took place and I thought he was fine. I don't know why both Amy and Clara insisted he wouldn't be.

His more weird when his talking to people as himself. It's handling human behaviour is when he might get it wrong.

Maybe I'm use to dealing with grumpy people that Twelves behavior doesn't register as wierd.:D

I thought Clara got a little bit defensive when he decided to share some knowledge in front of her class.

I like how Eleven was enthusiastic about his name badge when he was working in a retail shop. Something Rose would have been bored with.

Going off at janitor in front of the class wouldn't have done Clara any favors. But I know what its like to get defensive myself so I can understand her reaction.

She was probably thinking the school is her territory and wanted to protect it.

The Doctor just can't help himself. He likes to share knowledge. Most people underestimate cleaners since they think they are ill educated because of their job status.

Twelve was more articulate than Ten, going by the snippet we saw of him as an actual teacher. Twelve talks at a more normal pace.

The Doctor is usually the best at negotiating because his overly confident.
