Summary: Owen is not happy about having to look smart.

“Why do I have to get dolled up?” Owen grumbled. “This thing’s stranglin’ me.” He tugged at his tie and Ianto slapped his hands away before straightening it again.

“Leave it alone or I’ll strangle you myself.”

“Oh yeah? You and whose army?”

“What’s your problem, Owen?” Jack strode over, resplendent in his own suit. “Nobody else is complaining.”

“It’s alright for Ianto, he’s used to wearing fancy suits and ties, and the girls love getting’ dressed up, but this isn’t me!” Owen gestured at the suit.

“You’re not wearing jeans and t-shirt to meet the Queen and that’s final!”

I.m sure he'd look nice, but HM would be so busy looking at Jack and Ianto, she wouldn't notice anyone else. She always appreciated a good looking man. Have you seen Pics of the young Prince Philip?

I'm not one to dress up too much, but I'd try to look nice for HM. Owen just feels outclassed by the other two guys.

He will be eclipsed by Ianto and Jack but this is so, he has no choice

He really doesn't. Meeting the queen is an occasion for formality so he must dress accordingly. Ianto and Jack will still look better but at least Owen will be smart enough that he doesn't offend Her Majesty.
