Sorry I just now read this. You know me! I forgot to check LJ on my birthday and life is as always complicated with me.

You're so sweet! I didn't do anything on my birthday, but my mom did give me a beautiful blue knit shirt and some jewerely that matches perfectly. She said it was not my actual present, she had bought the shirt last year for herself and it didn't fit right. Now that I lost weight, it will fit me. My mom lost a bunch of weight herself some years back and is still 10 or 11 pounds thinner than me. The neckline is cut really pretty, can't describe it, but it is sexy! lol! Michael loves it. I just need a pair of pants to go with it. In fact I need all new pants. I am wearing my fat pants and holding them up with the belt because even my old, smaller clothes don't fit very well and some just look out of style or just not me anymore. Also, for obvious reasons I can't wear the pants too tight or I can't sit down for the pain. Great! I do think I can find some that at least aren't falling off me, but are a little loose. I hope so. I've waited so late again to shop. I am going try to go out this week and see what I can find.

After Thanksgiving in November, there won't be anything left to buy for awhile. They have this crazy sale on the day after Thanksgiving where the malls are packed with people buying up everything for Christmas and whatever. They call it "Black Friday" lol! I won't go near the malls on that day. It is just too crazy, too many people.

I hope you are doing ok. I see you have been writing a lot. You're really good. :)

Sorry I haven't been writing. I just don't seem to have the energy to care to do much at all which is bad because the holidays are coming and I need to be able to keep up. One day at a time, I guess, though our biggest problem is money this year, well most years, but really bad this year with all my medical bills. Great! NOT....and we need a new fake-Christmas tree too. The ornaments are old too, not much I can do about that right now. Santa will still come, even if we have a crappy tree. lol!

We just realized that Alex's costume didn't have everything it needed to work, they cheated us. Now we will have to get him another one and I am scared there won't be much left at this point. We should go today! Not good, only 3 days to Halloween. O_0

Sometimes quiet birthdays are the best kind!

You will be getting a card from me when I can finish it - had no time today what with battling to light the fire, which promptly filled the room with thick smoke instead of sending it up the chimney. We had to open all the windows and doors to let the smoke out, which meant we got lots of cold air in from outside. It was already like an ice box in the house and even now the fire is working properly and the radiators are hot, it's still cold inside. It'll take a few days to get rid of the chill since we've had a lot of wet weather and no heating, and all the windows open, lol!

Hope the shopping goes well when you get around to it, and that you can get Alex a replacement costume. Can't believe it's almost Halloween, this year has flown past.

Don't worry about your tree - even crappy trees look beautiful when they're decorated, it's a kind of Christmas magic!
