Title: Collision
Author:
badly_knitted
Characters: Tenth Doctor.
Rating: G
Written For: Challenge 021: Boats at
dw100
Spoilers: Voyage Of The Damned.
Summary: Even out in space you have to watch out for traffic.
Disclaimer: I don’t own Doctor Who, or the characters.
Travelling by TARDIS isn’t always completely safe. Safer than most forms of travel, true, but even a living spaceship can’t predict every eventuality. Nor can an over nine hundred-year-old Time Lord. Besides, some incidents are just so unbelievable that it wouldn’t cross the mind of even the smartest person in the universe to consider them.
When you’re way out in the depths of space, getting hit by a boat definitely falls into that category. But there it is, the bow of a ship sticking right through the wall of the TARDIS. Complete with a lifebelt.
The Doctor’s understandably confused.
“What?”
The End

Date: 2016-01-17 10:37 pm (UTC)David Tennant did say the Doctor felt guilty for what he did to Martha. So much for that!.
As for the Master. I didn't feel sorry for him until I knew why he heard druming in his ears because he was physically abusive towards Lucy at that point.
Do you think Missy is redemption for that?.

Date: 2016-01-17 10:55 pm (UTC)I didn't really feel sorry for the Master at all, he tortured, abused and killed so many people. Really, he was quite insane, but locking him up wouldn't work because no jail could hold him.

Date: 2016-01-17 11:18 pm (UTC)I blame part of what the Master did on the Time Lords because they gave him the worst case of tinea, so they could get out of the time lock. Making him more crazier than before.
In general, the innocent always suffer because of psychopaths no matter what.:(

Date: 2016-01-18 12:14 am (UTC)Ten: I'm the Lord of Time.
The Tenth Doctor certainly thought he was superior, depending on who he was talking to.
Psychopaths have no conscious but River Song certainly put a different spin on it. She was never rude?.

Date: 2016-01-18 12:19 am (UTC)Ten ended up being rather arrogant and full of himself, I didn't like that side of him.
The Time Lords decided they were going to lord it over all of time, but I don't think they really had the right to. It's not like they created time, they just learned how to control and manipulate aspects of it and travel backwards and forwards through it.

River said she had a conscious, so that goes against her actually being a psychopath. If she isn't lying.
Psychopaths are scientifically proven to be genetically born that way and then how they deal with it depends on how they are brought up.
You can't just be brainwashed into one. Kind of like Morgana from "Merlin".
As little as we saw of Nine. He didn't seem so self righteous. Ten was like a little spoiled brat when people questioned his authority. I blame Rose imprinting on Nine so that he became that way. Donna had to "balance" him out.
As a Fangirl of DT that is hard for me to say. I prefer him in other roles.
I guess Time Lords were very arrogant. They despised the Doctor.

Date: 2016-01-18 11:07 am (UTC)River's far from perfect, but she does indeed have a conscience. She just doesn't always listen to it.

Date: 2016-01-18 01:17 pm (UTC)Martha had to take care of him and he took it for granted. He decided not to do that with Donna and he lost her.
Basically the Doctor is reckless when he is grieving. He was self-destructive after he lost Rose.
I wonder how different River would have been if she had a different storyline. If she hadn't been "brainwashed". Probably still a rebel.

Date: 2016-01-18 07:55 pm (UTC)The Doctor is an alien, if he lets himself become too human he takes on some of the worst character traits of humanity and loses what makes him the man he is.

Date: 2016-01-19 05:16 am (UTC)From a behavioural perspective, the Doctor is also reliant on human champions to not let his alien qualities get the better of him. In return he inspires them to be extrodinary.
John Smith was pretty simple compared to the Doctor. Although he was a just a man of a certain era.

It's easier for the production team to hire actors to play "humans".
