Summary: Birthday parties at Torchwood don’t always go to plan.

Disclaimer: I don’t own Torchwood, or the characters.

Everyone at Torchwood gets a party on their birthday; it’s traditional. Of course, some go better than others.

They hadn’t even got to the present opening, never mind the food, when the Rift alarm sounded. By the time they got back, dirty, sweaty and exhausted, all anyone wanted was a coffee and a chance to take the weight off their feet. Instead, they found the Hub in complete chaos.

The party buffet, what was left of it, was strewn everywhere and the gifts shredded.

“But I locked Myf in her aerie!” Ianto whimpered.

Jack winced. “The lock’s broken. I forgot.”

Oops, seems that our Captain is going to have a lot of making up to do. I'm not worried, though. He knows better than anyone how to handle a pissed Ianto.

Jack's in trouble.I'm sure he'll make it up to whoever the party was for. And do the clean up without having to be asked - which will please Ianto. At least Myf had a good time. by the way, how come Ianto didn't notice the broken lock when he shut her in? That's not like him. So maybe he'll help with the clean up

I figure it's an automatic lock, triggered remotely, so he couldn't have seen it was broken because he wasn't actually up there. The light came on on the control panel, but maybe part of the bolt had sheered off, something like that. The mechanism worked the way it should as far as Ianto could see.

Jack will make it up to the birthday gal/guy, probably everyone will pitch in with clean-up because they all feel bad about the ruined party.
