Summary: There’s a fine line between curiosity and snooping.

“I love you, duckling,” Gwen’s father told her when he caught her snooping where she shouldn’t. “But there’s a big difference between being curious and being nosy. One of these days, you’ll put your nose somewhere it doesn’t belong, and you’ll get in real trouble.”

Peering down through the pouring rain from the multi-storey car park, watching ‘Special Ops’ bring the murder victim back to life, she remembered her dad’s words.

“Maybe there’s no right way of doing it,” the leader said before looking straight up at her. “What do you think?”

Fleeing the scene, she thought, ‘Dad was right.’

I still remember that first encounter with the weevil in the hospital. Definitely a moment when nosy caused trouble. Great job.

Yeah, her nosiness got an innocent man killed. It didn't endear Gwen to me, especially as she never seemed to realise she was responsible just as much as the Weevil was.

Oh this gave me a thrill! Back at the beginning before RTD have a chance to make Gwen an obnoxious character !

I'll confess, the first episode was when I started to dislike her. Her prying, lying to Rhys for no reason, the fact that she got an innocent caretaker killed and her incompetence as a policewoman didn't endear her to me. Surprisingly, she managed to go downhill from there =/

I don't expect characters to be perfect, but I do want them to be believable, and as a PC, she definitely wasn't. Now if she'd been a JOURNALIST, I could have understood and even accepted a lot of her stupid behaviour. It would have made sense.

She does like to stick her nose in where it doesn't belong...
Probably a good trait for a police woman/investigator/Torchwood operative.

I'm not sure that it is, because I take issue with her 'liking' to do it. Good investigators can do that, but it's not necessarily something they enjoy. With Gwen, the nosiness never stops, she pries into things she has no business knowing, just out of nosiness. She's probably a gossip too, spilling other people's private matters to everyone.

(Does it show that I don't like Gwen?)
