Fic Of The Week - Week Twenty Seven

Here we are again, past the halfway point of the year. I'm amazed at myself! I've never posted so often on my journal. This is also the longest I've ever kept to a new year's resolution.

This week's fic isn't particularly long as life is getting in the way a bit.

Personnel Issues is an 11 part fic from October 2010 by sparking_off & pinkfairy727 

Summary: The Torchwood Three email newsletter: an excuse to gossip, bitch, plan dates, fight, and discuss squirrel rats.

There are warnings for Canon character death and swearing, plus spoilers for all of season 2, but in spite of that, it looks like it might be fun - at least until the character death parts (which I assume will be Owen's zombification and possibly Tosh and Owen's deaths, so be warned).

Love that you are "finding" & introducing me to authors/stories I've missed--I often end up reading everything the author has on their masterlist as a result of the story you list for your "read of the week", so I just wanted to say "thanks" for introducing me to/finding me a bunch of writers I missed by coming to LJ "late"!!

You're welcome, I'm glad you're enjoying the fics!

I didn't even have internet until November 2008, so I missed two years' worth of fics myself, which I'm still trying to catch up with. Fic of the Week is as much of an adventure for me as for anyone else, because I'm finding the fics and reccing them without reading them first... I have no idea whether I'm recommending good fics or not, though many of the authors are already familiar to me from their short fics.

Many authors have gone by now, some have taken their fics with them, but there are still many truly brilliant older fics out there and I love that I can introduce other readers to them as well as discovering them for myself.

I hope you'll continue to enjoy my weekly recs =)

I just read part one of this one jean. I hope to make it all the way through. It is hysterical so far. I love mad Ianto!...and mad Ianto @ Jack and Owen. I am scared of character death, I know is ahead. I want to read it anyway.

Lj is acting up again. I had to re-type this one. LJ has not been happy last night or today where I am anyway.

I've read 7 parts so far and it's great fun! So far only character death is undead Owen, and it's still funny!

Been having some LJ issues myself, but it's working at the moment - touch wood (not that I'm supersticious, but just to be on the safe side!)

Oh I bet un-dead Owen is funny. Fanfic writters usually are very good at it, where as the writers of the show pissed me off "at times." Not always.

I am still only at the beginning. I was just up to writing you tonight. Maybe, I hope, I can continue reading now that my thoughts are not quite as nuts as they were a week ago-no lamictal as you know.

I know you have posted new fic readings since this. I hope you had fun with this one. I will let you know when I get done with it....at least that's my plan this time...lol! *rolls eyes* :D

PS. Loved the "touch wood" comment. Makes me think of the outtakes with John and James M. saying he had never hit anyone. JB. said ...Ok, touch wood. Can we have a dentist on standby?.

I hope you enjoy the rest of that fic - if you don't want any sadness, just ignore the last part - it's all fun until the last (very short) part, so there's no reason why you shouldn't just not read that. I did especially enjoy the whole Squirrel Rat saga! So funny!
