Title: The Greener Option

Summary: Ianto’s not too sure about the transportation Jack has acquired for his family.

A/N: For one of the prompts I didn’t get around to using for tw100’s challenge 288 last year. I’ve dug them out again to supplement the prompts I got from my f-list, just because there are still loads I wanted to use.

“Jack, that’s a tandem.” Ianto stared in bewilderment at the bicycle Jack had just wheeled into Torchwood’s garage. “Is that a child seat at the back?”

“Yep!” Jack grinned happily at his husband. “Isn’t it brilliant? I thought this way the three of us could go to the park without worrying about finding a parking spot!”

“You’re mad! Can you even ride a bike?”

“It’s been a while, but like they say: you never forget how. Plus it’s environmentally friendly!”

Ianto sighed. He was starting to regret suggesting to Jack that Torchwood should be doing more to protect the environment.

I'm sure the tandem will get sent back and Ianto will get two separate bikes with a safe child's seat on his own for Meriel.

OMG! I cannot imagine how nervous Ianto will be every time they use it, if they get to use it at all!

I think Ianto will refuse to use it and will trade it in for two cycles. It would be a lot safer! It really would be scary riding on the back. Mum tried it once with a friend of hers who had one (and mum was an experienced cyclist, used to doing cycling holidays riding 70+ miles a day). She said it was terrifying because the rider in front has total control and the one at the back has none at all.

A tandem bike... smh... hope Ianto will get rid of it fast! If one of them has poor balance, everybody could wind up in the ER.

Ianto is trading it in on two normal bikes as we speak, lol! He told Jack the length was impractical in Cardiff traffic.

I think Ianto decided to trade it in for single bikes, much more manouevreable in traffic!
