MERRY CHRISTMAS! MY BOYS ARE CELEBRATING!

Hello, and a very happy festive season to all my friends!

It's Christmas day in Britain, and after battling with my camera for ages, I finally managed to get it to work for long enough to take pictures of my boys enjoying their Christmas breakfast (pretzels) and a full turkey dinner. They're going to be stuffed!

This year there are twelve as a new Ianto has joined the gang. He came from Cardiff where he probably used to stand all alone on a shelf. He's happy now because he has Coat Jack! Needless to say, Coat Jack is also very happy.

Here they all are having breakfast. There were only a dozen pretzels so Nosy had some grapes.

Breakfast 1

New Ianto is the one in front of the snowman. He has a teddy bear.

Here's the scene from the other direction.

Breakfast 2

I served their dinner before letting them into the dining room. There's gravy and cranberry sauce on the tables, and plenty more turkey and vegetables on the side tables so they can help themselves. There's also Christmas Pudding and Mince Pies.

Dinner 1a

I hope they're all hungry!

Dinner 4

Looks like they're all enjoying themselves! I hope you all are too!

MERRY CHRISTMAS, OR HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL! *HUGS*

WOW the Jacks and Iantos look very cheerful and enjoying their feast. I love the details in everything and Nosy looks too concentrated on her food too!
loved it!

It's all Jack and Ianto, and one little Doctor. I love it. Where on earth do you get teeny tiny food? Is that Yorkshire Pudding on the plates? I'm having that tomorrow when my daughter comes down. You can keep the beef, I just want the pudding.

Missed Nine. Will have to go back and check. :)

OH, he's right there. Duh!

And yet, he's MY doctor! I just didn't see him there. My bad. :)

Now that's what I call a party! :D I'm glad that you rescued another Ianto from a lonely existence on a shelf and that Coat Jack has his own Ianto at last. :D

Merry Christmas!

I Love Janto

Love this.
Glad that you got another Ianto.
He will fit right in.
Grapes are better for Nosy anyway.
Our boys are having a wonderful dinner.

I hope everyone had a great day.

Looks like all the boys had a lot of fun, with the new Ianto fitting right in :) - Are Christmas Pudding and Mince Pies traditional GB Xmas food? I'm always curious to know what other countries serve on the holidays :)

Hm, I see. Here in Germany a traditional dish for Christmas Eve is either potato salad with wiener sausage or noodle salad. The goose or poached carp is served the next day.

As for sweet stuff we mostly eat bought sweets, mostly chocolate, or you bake cookies. We use for our cookie a recipe based on short pastry.

Ah, thank you for clearing that up! I really thought meat was involved in mince pies XD So they are filled with orangeade and candied lemon peel and stuff? If so, then I fear I wouldn't like it. I was scandalized recently to find that stuff in Heidesand (http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heidesand#mediaviewer/File:Heidesand.jpg) of all things *urgh*

Urgh, no thanks, I think I'll pass mince pies. Pity though; I just read two books where the MC's pretty much lived off those ^_^"

I have no clear idea why it must be carp. Fish can be a symbol for Jesus/Christianity though...? As you can guess, I didn't exactly have a religious upbringing XD Anyway, mum doesn't like carp because apparently, it does have lots of fish bones...

I could nibble a bit on a piece of it, but yes, we had goose. With red cabbage, bread dumplings and a sauce with mushrooms. Very yummy! I was pretty heartbroken that I had to content myself with the latter two T-T

Most of my dislikes are due to me being a picky eater XD Yes, I have no shame, I can simply admit it XD

Me too! Now I eat at least asparagus, some types of cabbage, bacon, and more fruits/vegetables in general. When I was little, my mum was pretty much at her wit's end at how to get any vitamins into me XD

I don't like gristle, but I have nothing against fat on meat; I like gnawing on ribs ^.^" I don't like fish/sea food, ground pork, beef from the cow (except for in Hamburgers), cheese, and any kind of innards. - Mum loves blood tongue *shudders*

Mushrooms are great! Chinese Wood Ear Fungi is great *yum*

Pity about the cheese, especially if you like it so! I only eat the one on pizza and a certain kind of cream cheese.

Hmmm! Asparagus is really yummy! I don't cook myself, only bake, but I could ask my mum for how to prepare it? I mean, I know that, when you buy it and will not use it on the same day, you need to put it into the fridge, wrapped in water soaked kitchen paper so that it won't dry out. Then, before cooking it, you need to peel it, best done with a peeler instead of a knife (so that the spear doesn't break. Also, you need to cut the end off, because it's usually dry and stringy.

The rest, I could ask mum about, as I said. It's really a great tasting vegetable, and pretty much a staple of Lower Saxony, with everyone eating it during the season, but the one imported from Peru (not Greece) is very tasty too :)

Out of season asparagus is not that common here either. I think most countries need to import it.

Looks like a good party :-)

Merry Christmas to you too! Over a month late, lol :-)
